Israel elections delayed because of Britney Spears concert

Last week, Britney Spears announced she will perform her first ever concert in Israel this July when she brings her epic Piece Of Me show to Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park and her impending visit has sent the country into a frenzy.

A national election scheduled for July 3 has been pushed back by one day due to fears that Britney fans would choose the princess of pop over politics  and that citizens would have difficulty making it to polling stations.

“The election date was delayed by one day due to the fact that there is a major event at Yarkon Park on July 3, 2017,” reads the official announcement.

Now the people can have the night of their lives as planned and then vote on July 4, with a party spokesperson saying it will “make it easier for people to reach polling stations.”

The concert is one of five concerts that have been announced so far, with the “Glory” icon also scheduled to perform in Japan and Manila.
