Insulting the Kardashians and publicly feigning outrage over social injustices are both quick ways to get an ego boost and raise your perceived social standing. This commercial is an Outrage Opportunity Two-For-One Special. Since the dawn of Advertising businesses have capitalized on social movements to sell their products. For example, cigarette companies capitalized on the Suffragette movement by re-branding cigarette's as "torches of freedom." But this Pepsi commercial isn't attempting to attach itself to a specific movement, which makes the outrage even more misplaced. Pepsi made a racially and religiously diverse commercial that presented the current spirit of activism sweeping our country in a rosy light. But because they didn't show the literal reality and of police brutality... a pox on them. Yes. And they deserve even more **** for it. This commercial looks like it was paid by the police or something. "Not all cops" kind of bullshit. Glamorizing and capitalizing financially on the struggle many are fighting for basic human rights. Not a cute look. Plus, It doesn't make any sense. "Seems to be trendy lately to talk sh*t about 'Lady Gaga' when your albums/singles drop." - Leviticus 20:

The CEOs of Tesla, Uber, PepsiCo, Apple, General Motors, JPMorgan Chase, Walmart, Walt Disney Company, Boeing, IBM, General Electric, etc. are all part of that council. If you don't want to consume products created by companies that are part of Trump's Business Council...have fun living off the grid.

PepsiCo being part of Trump's Business Council has nothing to do with this commercial. It's about business. PepsiCo's CEO, Indra Nooyi, has been critical of Trump and was a supporter of Hillary Clinton during the election. So, there goes whatever partisan narrative you were trying to spin. GagaMyBlood95 9,915
I honestly don't see why this commercial is 'controversial' because A LOT of brands use events and what is happening in the world right now to promote their products, which is obviously not good but still they do it.. But on the other hand, the whole commercial makes no sense to me, the scenes seem like they've been put together randomly. And then comes Kendal, whiich again makes no sense Idk.. just super weird overall

Gia Gunn 7,265
This is the worst commercial ever and in SO many levels I'm leaving Miss Fame's tweet here (there are others you should check out) because I feel like she has expressed everything I wanted to say, but more eloquently

Haldy 1,258
Miss Fame scalped this advert on twitter and was spot on with her assessment of its message, Pepsi and Kendall. I wouldn't want Gaga within 100 miles of this thing.
Bambino 24,290
I hate that they used such a song for such sell-out product. And one of the Kardashians? Really?
