Gov Hooka 8,008
Eeasily recognizable does not equal Iconic or Legendary. For example Call Me Maybe is easily recognizable, but is this song iconic? You can't measure iconic until much much later. Unfortunately Call Me Maybe will stand the test of time on radio, being used in commercials, etc. Many songs are like this-Funkytown, Thriller, the list is endless. The hits are hits and stand the test of time. The huger and bigger hits stand even higher.I think we're all deluding ourselves here if we're saying Rihanna hasn't done anything iconic yet she resonates the most with the General Public. Dayman 5,989
I can't think of a single thing she has ever done. I'm not even trying to be shady. The only thing I can think of is her red hair - but even that is debatable.
djBuffoon 12,025
The songs that are given to her are, by and large, absolutely stellar. And her voice has gotten 10x stronger since she started. But has she herself brought anything to the table that is unique or iconic? I don't believe so.
EdgeofTeeth 1,934
Eh… She hasn't done anything specific to set herself apart or make herself a legend tbh.
UrethraFranklin 434
Hits singles does not necessarily equal iconic songs. And like I said, I don't think her songs are iconic. WHOOSH

Gov Hooka 8,008
her discography-the HUGE collection of hit singles comes to mind. She has done something iconic by staying so fresh in the music industry and resonating well with the public. Most of us here are using subjective means of measuring how something is iconic. The only objective means is available through sales, charts, media, public interest, etc., which Rihanna has consistently done good at. Her hits define her-everyone knows We Found Love, Umbrella, Only Girl, Diamonds, etc.

Quark 7,085
Not necessarily. There are many songs from past decades that are being played right now, but not all of them are iconic. Gov Hooka 8,008
Not necessarily. There are many songs from past decades that are being played right now, but not all of them are iconic. but continually/easily recognized is important for iconic songs-if Call Me Maybe will pass that test, we'll see-time will tell. Elizabeth 450
& that time at the airport when a fan asked for a picture and she was like "Nat taday beb" On a serious note, I think in general she's pretty memorable for this generation? Her hit singles will still be remembered in 30 years I'm pretty sure
