Premiums are through the roof. People who used to pay a few hundred a month are now paying up to $700-$1100. In some states premiums increased 40-60%. It is a disaster, if you don't want it you are charged a fee and penalized. We need something knew. Doctors also don't like it either

The whole healthcare system needs total re-organization

it baffles me what healthcare costs in the US. Healthcare should not be that expensive. Many other Nations with great healthcare dont have those kinds of costs

We do. Obamacare was just plain awful and the amount of times Obama lied about it is shocking.

And Obamacare does not allow people to choose doctors. Obama said if you like your doctor, you can keep him, the biggest lie he said about it yet.

Depends on what u value

our wait times are only for minir things that dont pose a risk to your life in anyway like my dads hernia he had to wait 10 weeks for

i prefer never having to worry about costs even if it means non priority things have some wait time. I think its a price worth paying

A hernia or cataracts is but an inconvinence. If i have to wait an extra month than i would in the US to not have to have high premiums or worry about coverage why not?

As for anything serious, it always gets dealt with quickly and promptly

Also we do NOT have high taxes to pay for it. It may surprise you to know that most major taxes are actually lower in Canada than in the US. Its not the 1980s anymore despite the reputation that still remains on our taxes. Also weve kept our debt the lowest in G7 despite this.

Before the 2008 great recession we ran large budget surpluses while laying for this healthcare

Im just saying, if organized properly, a Public Health system doesnt have to be as expensive.

Im more right winged than most on GGD yet I support our system. I like it!

Biopsies for breast cancer can be serious. Knee replacement or hip replacement can be needed sooner than later for people in industries where they walk or stand all day.

Taxes will have to go up if our government isn't able to double spending. Our government can't double spending without cutting out military spending completely of cutting needed funds elsewhere. We've already discussed this and established this fact.

A public healthcare system that takes forty five to fifty per cent of federal funding IS expensive.

Of course you like it, your country spends a large percentage on it. Ours would tax us more, services would change, and it would put a burden on states. Something would have to give. 340 million people aren't going to get employee based care for free without someone paying for it.

But your Trump was going to give us MUCH BETTER health insurance for a portion of the cost. It would be super-duper easy and he could do it alone in the first week!!

Didn't you know! Healthcare is easy to solve!!

There is no freedom of choice like Obama promised and it is not affordable as Obama promised.

Obama: “If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor.”

Obamacare upended the healthcare market, and unsurprisingly its narrow provider networks have prevented millions of American families from being able to see the doctor they know and trust.

Despite his previous claims, President Obama admitted in an interview that his law has indeed caused this disruption for millions of Americans.

You sound just like Trump. No wonder you believed his lies and policy free promises.

I didnt say the US was gonna pull it off. As long as $700 Billion annually go to military its gonna be hard to have much money left over for any decent public services.

Im just saying if done correctly its possible to do it without huge deficits or high taxes. We are doing it right now.

Also 45% sounds like a lot in percentage. But in total not really. Our former conservative Government made taxation and spending low and efficient... But healthcare was exempt from most major cuts

As a result, as a percentage almost half what we spend goes to healthcare cause were not a big spending Nation over-all. But in total numbers we actually spend less per capita than many OECD Nations. I believe we were about average in Government healthcare costs per capita

You're so right about the military budget, it needs to be cut big league.

If it was cut in half, $300 Billion to $350 annually would be saved. The US would still have the largest military on Earth, and the savings could pay for a lot of stuff that right now may seem unaffordable

The US is in the top 20 wealthiest Nations Per Capita. Some years it has made the top 10! It has the wealth to pay for a lot of things. Its just that too much is being wasted

I never said his plan was better, it was worse. But you can't sit here and deny the facts about Obamacare, premiums are rising and there is no doctor choice as Obama promised. We need a new healthcare package better than Obamacare. I don't like RyanCare and that is why I don't support Trump anymore.

i suggest you read this article stating the facts about Obamacare and all the lies that were told about it.

I will never forgot Obama lying right to my face, "If you like a doctor, you will get to keep him. It will be affordable. My plan will cover every American. No middle class family will see a tax increase, etc." all lies

I know, it's disgusting. The fact that we could completely rebuild our infrastructure with just a fraction of the money we waste on defense pisses me off. The ****ing military Industrial complex it's has **** up the countries ass and is ****ing us.

Interesting fact... what the world spends on military could end world hunger

If as humans we were united and not wasting money on guns with distrust, wed all be the better for it... Too bad its not that simple

Canadians arent much better. Maybe its the long winters i dunno but 1 in 4 suffer from mental illness like anxiety, depression or some other type of mood disorder (im among them)

Those antisycotic drugs costs on insurance companies and the phychologists and phychiatrists the government has to pay for are balooning costs.

Also too mamy are getting compensation cause they cant work

Soon mental health could start to cost more than Obesity related health issues. Or maybe its already surpassed i dont know the exact figures

I went to see my brother today and the Cardio section of the Hospital took up 1/3 of the floor (Its one of the largest Hospitals in Toronto area so 1 floor is huge)... but the mental health section took up an entire floor plus a section of the next floor :air:
