An initial investigation of a recent airstrike believed to have killed more than 200 civilians in Mosul found it was conducted by the U.S.-led coalition at the request of Iraqi security forces, the Pentagon said Saturday.

Witnesses said the airstrike killed hundreds of residents on Baghdad Street in west Mosul’s Aghawat Jadidah neighborhood March 17, including many women and young children. On Friday, in an area where apartment blocks were reduced to rubble, at least 50 bodies could be seen, including those of pregnant women, children and newborns.

“Many people get killed because of the airstrikes,” said his brother and neighbor, Atheer Ghazi, 55, adding that he would prefer to see soldiers fighting in the streets.

Up the street, barber Muthana Jabar, 32, said that he was friends with Borham and that he was nearby when the airstrike hit his house.

An Islamic State sniper was on the roof, so it was targeted, he said of Borham’s home. “Two days later we went to check the house, and he was dead. They should be more careful with the airstrikes because it endangers our lives,” Jabar said.

Also an interesting highlight from another article

General Saadi said he had demanded that the coalition pause its air campaign to assess what happened and to take stricter measures to prevent more civilian victims. Another Iraqi special forces officer, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, said that there had been a noticeable relaxing of the coalition’s rules of engagement since President Trump took office.

I know this isn't how it works but I like to imagine Trump sitting around calling these strikes as if he's playing a game of Sims.

How many people's deaths is he responsible for at this point? Between the strikes and failed raids?

Modern Ecstacy

So so awful. American forces just keep killing innocent civilians and keep getting away with it. This has to stop. Where is the justice?

The Yemen Raid was 10 people. There was another airstrike on a school on Tuesday morning that killed about 30 children. There was another airstrike on a mosque that killed about 40 people. Though out the month around another 1000 people died in US led strikes ...

More than 1000 civilians in March alone....

Where is the outrage? Will Trump ever address this (no, he'll tweet about Snoop Dog)? These are clear war crimes. Crimes against humanity.

I know the American military has always been pretty...well, deadly, but that's actually shocking :/ I wish our leaders would learn how inhuman this all is.

Nothing will be done about it.

US can get away with anything, unfortunately.

The population is brainwashed into thinking the millitary is great and perfect so most won't care about this, sadly.

Especially with the nationalist, borderline fascist administration we have now.

The West seems to not realize that for many they are the face of terrorism.

Sadly, it is a cycle that won't stop anytime soon.

It all comes down to greed and corruption.

Geez. We're such bullies.

More like sour grapes from terrorist sympathizers.  The articles failed to mention that high ranking IS and al queda

Leaders were hiding behind civilians.

The loss of innocent life is terrible but laying blame soley on US and Trump is fake news propiganada.

Also I believe there is gov relief aid available to deal civilians affected by these bombing raids. Which neither IS not any terrorist offers.
