Exactly. Everyone was saying how much it was smashing, but she performed it everywhere and it wasn't catching on as it should've. There was a lot of new bad press  released on RKelly that worked against the song, I think DWUW would've done better if it didn't feature him unfortunately.

yeah, she should have gotten someone else like Usher, or John Legend, or The Weeknd to avoid that controversy.

In Canada it was such a hit! I remember it perfectly because I was wondering why it was high in canada and not in us

I think that if the solo version of DWUW would have been released as the lead single it would have had a chance at #1. It's legit one of Gaga's catchiest songs ever!

Hack, even Applause would have had a slight chance at debuting at #1 if it hadn't leaked, if it wasn't released the same time as Roar & if the video had been released immediately with the single release like Gaga wanted. Ughh, ARTPOP would have been sooo successful if it only had been promoted right, Gypsy was waiting to smash on radio, poor song :/

And shortly after Terry Richardson was announced as the director of the unreleased video, new sexual abuse allegations against him showed up in the media as well. If the video actually came out, Gaga might have had a hit with a nice peak, but it would have done more damage in the long run.

Excuse the crass analogy but the DWUW video was the heroin/meth of Gaga's career. It would have felt glorious for some minutes but when the high is done, you realize how much you f*cked up. I think we were really better off without the video in the end.

DWUW ft. The Weeknd would be coming for #1 for 94 weeks and SOTY & ROTY

dramatic, let's not pretend like there aren't 40 Drake and Ed Sheeran songs above + new releases.

youtube has always been bad, that isn't new
