It just shows Gaga is better off doing whatever the hell she wants rather than catering to what her fans think she needs in her career.

John Wayne has everything what the gays asked for: Uptempo song, choreography, fun on-trend color scheme, rapid fire editing, professional director, sex, over the top campiness and Gaga looking snatched, yet it flopped.

And this is why I don't trust anybody that hails DIC as the holy grail that will take Gaga's career above and beyond, repair all relations to pop radio and make her become bigger than she was in 2010. They don't realize that just because they love something so strongly doesn't mean that anyone else even remotely cares. Like... The John Wayne video is objectively great and it can't get 20M views right on the back of Gaga's Superbowl hype.

It's very similar to those 250 twinks on tumblr that think Emotion of Carly Rae Jepsen is the greatest album of all time and got seriously offended when it wasn't nominated for a Grammy, not realizing that the world doesn't revolve around that particular album and really nobody actually gave a f*ck about it or thought it was good. Literally comfortably living in a bubble, bubble. :chica:

Poor Mark Ronson being excluded :neyde:

John Wayne didn't flop though. It wasn't even a single, and had no promotion. It was just a video for the fans. Why would anyone expect more views than what it got?

Its still the best video of the era.

But John wayne was not even a single, so I don't know how you guys expect the video to receive a lot of views. In my opinion the views are just fine for a non single/radio friendly album track :ladyhaha:

What I was expecting is not the point. The point is: The video delivered everything the fanbase said Gaga needed to "revive" her career (that is pretty much alive anyways and doesn't need reviving lol), pick up younger audiences, keep the hype going and pick up on streaming and yet it flatlined.

What you need isn't always what you want is all I'm trying to say.

It may have delivered on what the FANS wanted and that's fine, but if the video is not really known then how would we know the GP wouldn't like it? Just like I stated in my original point, it was not a single, so there is no way to determine how successful the video would have been.

Yeah, and if she used an amazing video like John Wayne's on an actual single, the views would likely be huge!

You can't expect the views on a song no one (except fans) knows about to be comparable to the views of videos for actual singles.

Wow. I can't believe this. I'm so sick of The Chainsmokers jfc. Unbelievable.

Americano

Gaga sold out her extra US date so quickly. Idk why they arent adding dates faster, it's stupid. Easily could add more in major cities like Philly, NYC, LA, Miami, Dallas, etc. With how it's going, if they wanted to, they could easily make it a 150M+ grossing tour.

Did she sell out her Spanish / UK dates?

Last time I checked, there were loads of tickets available online through official retailers.

I think she might have sold out Spain, she didn't with the UK except London.

@Supersonic has made a spreadsheet about this...

Btw, you should update MR's data after this article :lolly:

News from Italy:

"Million Reasons" spent its 18th week in the top40 on TimMusic platform at #38.

The song reached 28,000 spins and about to surpass "Perfect Illusion" in a week or more.

FIMI is out in a few hours and will be out from top40 cause of Spotify but still slay after almost 5 months.

According to my prediction the song has reached 95K copies and will reach 2x platinum on easter.

Maybe the discount could help a little bit... we will see :classy:

Guys, just to remind you all that the Best Pop Vocal Performance category no longer exists and that the vocal is not for how good the artist sound but a differentiation between vocal and instrumental records. The same applies for Best Pop Vocal Album.
