Her 2003 ABC Special was her peak as a dancer because while her prime was short, she was a better dancer than both Madonna and Beyonce at their best.  She could be natural as Madonna or Beyonce but had the technical skill (taken by her actual biggest influence, Janet Jackson) neither of them really had.

From popdirt: Dell Williams, a leader in the women’s rights movement and founder of Eve’s Garden, the country’s first pleasure store for women, today announced that she applauds Britney Spears and her new song “Touch of My Hand,” an ode to masturbation. According to wikipedia: The first song recorded for In the Zone was "Touch of My Hand", and Spears said it "really did provide a balance for the rest of the record. We just went from there." 

David Browne of Entertainment Weekly called "Brave New Girl" and "Touch of My Hand" the best and most straightforward moments of the album, but added that "On a CD intended to celebrate her lurch into adulthood, Spears remains distant and submerged. For all her freedom, she's still finding her way.
