My Initial Thoughts In all honesty, in regard to the 'next generation' of pop stars, Becky is probably my favorite. Her early, English-language singles fall within the mediocre category, held down by the generic and beat-to-death Dr. Luke lyrical contributions and stale production. However, all three of her Spanish-language singles (among some of her features) are very strong. I'd be interested in her debut, Spanish-language album...it just sounds fresh, vocally and lyrically. The Dr. Luke Dilemma It makes me happy that she's using producers that aren't Dr. Luke for her new work, but I'd of course still be torn between actually purchasing anything when she's signed to Kemosabe. I do believe Dr. Luke is at the very least emotionally abusive and at the very worst, sexually abusive and I've always felt sympathy for Becky (as well as Kesha, of course) because I don't imagine her treatment is much different, verbally at least. Becky has even tweeted something suggesting she was worried about eating a donut over fear of retribution... Debut Album and Power Rangers The girl is playing a lesbian Power Ranger, so I love her for that. Hopefully it won't be a stereotypical or forced portrayal/character. I've been listening to her three singles from her debut album, Sola, Mangu, and Todo Cambio, and they're all really good. You can find them on unofficial YouTube accounts if you don't want to be kicking streaming money back to the label owner. I'm glad she's releasing an album in Spanish, she seems much more comfortable and confident in the language, and like I said, she's working with more quality producers. The artwork for the singles are so good too. Personal Life I'm just using this section so we can talk about her hot, gorgeous soccer-player boyfriend, Sebastian Lletget. Final Thoughts I really like her. I love that we're getting a young, Spanish-language pop-star who is embracing her roots. Her new music seems much more...her...so perhaps she's in a little more control over the creative process. I'd stan a little harder if she wasn't under Kemosabe, and while her debut album will probably be Latin-pop perfection, I'd have to think long and hard if I would want to buy it. But about Power Rangers, she did OK, her role is not so major, definitely wish she have more screen time. The film focused more on Jason, Billy and Kimberly the most. But for what it is, she did good. Hopefully she will get more part on the sequel, cos I am sue there will be one after watching it and it exceeds expectation. Yes, I came thinking it was going to be so cheesy, since the trailers misled me so much lmao But I am glad it was much better, it make Power Rangers more than just a group of teenagers with attitude in coloured spandex but an actual group of BAMFs The zords look better too in the film than the toys. It's too bad she's not recognized much, and has a reputation of being "cursed". She also performed a great tribute medley of Selena Quintanilla songs.
