For all we know, the attacker was the child of immigrants or British-born and influenced by ISIS. The possibilities are endless for this to be made into an issue on immigration, Islam, refugees etc... This, I think the fact that he's British-Born has very little relevance if he sided with extremist views

Dominic 11,922
The problem is that the narrative has already been written. As far as the masses are concerned (those who just read the headline) this is a Muslim terrorist attack on "British values". The narrative was written as soon as the first shot was fired so it doesn't really matter who/what did it. It'll be a Muslim attack regardless to most. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

That's why ISIS is so dangerous, they don't even need to coordinate attacks. It's enough to "inspire" individuals to commit such acts. And segregation and this war on Islam type of thinking will only make things worse, it's basicly giving muslims a reason to hate western civilisation, making it easier for them to be corrupted. Exactly my point. People need to realize that they can't SJW everything just like racist can't **** on everything nice. Extremists are real and they are threats. It is reported as such. The thing is, he wasn't a refugee and also he didn't arrive from the countries which are often on these recent ban lists. So it's ridiculous that attack like this will be politicized to justify more bans, but the bans didn't and couldn't prevent it! I'm talking about electronics ban from specific airports, in UK's case and rejection of refugees. Also this was attack on British values just as much as murder of Jo Cox was, but that terrorist didn't represent his race/religion in the eyes of the public, it's important to notice that. 46 minutes ago, Sepsami said: So basicly a lone wolf? Basically IS would claim anything, (un)fortunately he's dead so we can't get any info out of him. Last part is a bit problematic, the way you wrote it (maybe unintentionally) because it implies Muslims are all ticking time bombs, but I agree that more discrimination and marginalization is what extremists want, they want to eliminate so called gray zone. lego 44,165
It's enough to say he was British. Any Brit of any skin color can come under influence of extremist ideology whatever it may be. This "British born" sounds weird. 🤔 FreePalestine

That's such an absurd claim because I was close with a couple of really amazing people from Syria who were the furthest from extremists and they stanned Rihanna and Beyonce and Gaga whole heartedly. They were broken into and 2 of they cried over how any and all Madonna imagery/music was banned by ISIS. We talked all through the 2014 and I lost all contact with them mid 2015. I don't even know if they are alive tbh. So don't generalize and assume the ground that bore them makes them equal. That's ridiculous. Morphine Prince 110,002
And also I think it's very important to note that he's British. This demonstrates the growing issue of homegrown terrorism. He was msot likely a lone wolf but an attack like this could've been coordinated by a group in the UK, etc. It's crucial to identify potential attackers within your own borders. MJHolland 12,725
Well we also have to look at who radicalized him. He might have been British born, but immigrants could have radicalized him. That's what we saw with the Orlando shooter. His own parents radicalized him, taught him that you deserve to die for being gay, and he internalized that radical ideology into self-loathing and eventually terrorism. The process of radicalization is the issue, not where he was born. Just because he was born in the U.K. Doesn't mean we shouldn't investigate the role of radical refugees/ immigrant networks because those certainly exist in London and all over the U.K. There are a lot of documentaries that highlight the radical 1st and 2nd gen Muslim communities in the U.K., that's where "no go zones" came from (although exaggerated by Fox News)

I mean I agree that the majority are good people, but do a quick google search of Germany and you will find a lot of stories about radicalized refugees causing trouble at refugee camps Unfortunuately it's just the reality I remember reading over the summer that Germany was having a hard time finding volunteers because there was a portion of the refugee population that was being violent at the camps.
