It makes no sense and even then you still wouldn't prove **** with that thing. When was the last time a major pop girl was a the top of BB100 for weeks ? I think it was Rihanna with Work soooo...I don't know what you're trying to say here. And all this considering the fact that you're entirely ignoring the fact that this song's message is negative and a critic to the system, that's probably what America doesn't want to hear these days. The underperformance comes with a lot of factors that you don't seem to realise. "I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"

PaperIz 7,338
The song is a grower I think and her imagery is really fun and I love what she did with it on a deeper level, but it's just more costumes. I think she's just stalling a bit. It happens to everyone eventually. Human generated art
Computer 10,973
The song sounds great to me but the message is probably putting people off. I was surprised that a Katy lead performed this way, but now I'm not so surprised. 💚💛💕❣⭕💢💢 | ⓜⓔⓡⓡⓨ ©ⓗⓡⓘⓢⓣⓜⓐⓢ

DeanWinchester 41,390
Gaga wishes she had a chartrun like this in the current era but CTTR definitely broke Katy's record of her leads always going #1 and is underperforming in the US Flyin' like a 1000 Doves

Dominic 11,922
I don't think the song has enough punch to stand-out. It's alright but I admit, even as a huge Katy fan, it misses the mark. Also every pop girl has done pretty bad. It's just not there era of the pop diva. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
SEANGT 5,176
The industry is way different than it was a few years ago I think. #1 songs are mega-viral streaming hits these days. The kind of stuff that barely builds fanbases unless you're releasing incredible mini-movies every single like The Weeknd. Even then he has to release a new one every month to stay relevant. Seems like even with Chainsmokers, they have big hits one after the other, but if they took a year off to release a whole new album people would probably forget about them in that time. Previously established artists don't make a big splash on streaming because the headline is more..."look a new Gaga song" instead of "look a whole new artist" ...which has always been a thing...but idk, it feels different now.
