Did you see this chart performance coming?

Chained to the Rhythm (2017) *2 weeks in Top 10*
1st Week: #4
2nd Week: #8
3rd Week: #12
4th Week: #13
5th Week: #15 (still charting)

Its performing worse than "NO" by Meghan Trainor at this point.

Frankly, I'm shocked.

I'm really curious if she's gonna release another single before the album.

Capital Records must be freaking out

Can't really vote because its not doing bad. I'm more surprised at how terrible Rise did. Compared to her past releases, its a little underwhelming. But its not tanking, it'll stay in the top 50 atleast for awhile.

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

It's doing okay but not like Katy "Firework" "Roar" standards. She hasn't really had a good performance to push the song and people just aren't here for it. Even my sister who is neutral to music says she doesn't like it.

Not saying its doing bad, but for a Katy Perry lead single its def an underperformance

Her ARTPOP had to happen sooner than later. Although, this isn't even ARTPOP standards... Applause was a force to be reckoned with if I remember correctly.

I'm more sad about how our 2011 pop girls are under-performing as a whole in recent years.

Katy Perry was ALWAYS the pop girl that could deliver smash hit after smash hit after smash hit, now with her slightly tanking too where does that leave the rest of the girls? Gaga only had a #4 due to the Superbowl and her talent. Admittedly, Rihanna is still doing good but ANTI is still is a letdown compared to, say, Unapologetic with Diamonds and Stay smashing back to back with both reaching #1 or Loud where she held the top 2 spots simultaneously. Beyoncé is doing amazing in albums but Formation peaked at #10. Britney is... well... flopping in commercial performance.  Even Adele didn't smash as hard with 25 as she did with 21.

With the exception of Taylor, most pop females seem to have had definite declines. We need a new batch of pop girls now.

Not surprised at all.

Chained To The Rhythm sounds chunky and off. It tries to have that breezy smooth sound but it fails and sounds contrived. (This is coming from someone who sometimes enjoys Katy's previous work / not a hater)

I don't like the song, find it shallow AF but I am surprised considering this is the lead single of KP's comeback album.

I knew it was gonna do much better WW tbh. It's exactly what Europe wants to listen rn :whitney: Now can I say I'm a true chartser :poot:

But yeah it's shocking how it's doing in the US, I 100% thought it was gonna go #1
