I wouldn't say her comments pre-PI made Joanne seem dark tho. It's true that during the AHS era she said that playing The Countess would inspire her on her album but the last time she considered the idea of dark album was on the Golden Globes when she was asked about it. Red One being the producer though, that gave LM FM flashbacks for sure As for the ballads, 3 are a lot for a pop album. But as you've said, it gave us flashbacks, that brought us great memories and so, we, as we didn't know much about 'LG5', started make theories hoping she'd brought those times back but Gaga didn't say anything. about it being actually dark. You know what I mean? And Intel visuals were not dark. What made us so excited is that they brought innovativeGa and crazyGa back but not darkGa.
