I think they owe the public an explanation then because to many people, it's gonna look like a cheap attempt to friend Trump and that isn't acceptable. I don't believe that to be true. Not only would publicly addressing a potentially-huge risk to air travel would cause mass paranoia, and inspire home-grown terrorists who may try to do this themselves. Okay, if thy can't say it's because of terrorists, I do think they should try to distance themselves from the Trump administration. Appearing to be friends with Trump is not acceptable. Now there is an official statement in Israel that anyone who's taking a flight with Turkish airlines and has a stop in Turkey's aorport, they must put their laptops in the check in luggage.. Eventually this "backdoor" will become a universal tool for terrorism won't it? And then electronics will be blocked from every flight in the world... It's like the argument that terrorists only come from 7 countries in the ME. Even though that's not true, we all know that terrorism comes from everywhere. I understand the level of threat though.
