YeehawKylie 7,817
Making people check their laptops en route from certain countries =/= completely banning entry to people from certain countries. I'll admit this is probably intelligence related, but I don't think it at all condones the banning of humans based on nationality.
JustinTrudeau 2,419
Hm, this might be inconvenient for people who have work to do on their laptops during flights or who wants to listen to music/read e-books. But for a few hours, they'll have to settle for in-flight entertainment or printed books. So the affected airlines should upgrade their planes, and prevent passengers from being bored on board. Sounds like a good business opportunity though. I do feel like this should apply to all countries though, cause most terrorists were citizens of their own country (France, Belgium, U.S.A., Canada, etc). I fell down the stairs once as an actor. They probably have to place laptops in business class for business men. That's the only solution I know .. Crossfit
Born To Slay 10,996
That's absurd. If I were flying to another country and they banned me from using a laptop because of my national origin, I'd have been extremely offended. The terrorists have own folks
Maleficent 6
Something is going on. I suspect that it has been realized that there is a backdoor to access and hack an airplane's controls from within the cabin--and perhaps there has even been a warning that something may happen in the near future... Scary

Something serious is going on behind the scenes, and these airports were red-flagged for some reason unrelated to Muslims or Middle-Easterners. Scary That's what I was thinking. They probably won't release the details but I'm very curious. Terrorists must have something planned.

They banned laptops from being in the cabin from the 6 countries listed in the op. Unless I misread something, I'm pretty sure it has something to do with nationality. I would say checked in luggage is easier to detect for explosives etc. It could be that they have received information that terrorists are planning to use electronic devices in cabins, who knows but it wouldn't surprise me if more countries are added to the list.
