I have a serious question, im not trying to be shady by the way so pls dont be rude, i just wanna know what's the deal and the obssesion towards Toxic & Blackout (album) i really never understood the obssesion about those :air:   if u look in Britney's catalogue i know that i can find better songs, and Blackout seems like an ok/average pop album, like i really dont care why is Blackout treated like a cult album :air:

For example i do understand why The Fame/Monster was so loved, that album accomplished to a lot of ppl outside of pop love a pop icon, Stripped by Xtina was huged thx to the lyrics and the hype for Linda Perry working with X, BOMT create a niche for the 90's pop revival and britney clons, etc... but BLACKOUT? seriously? :air:   i think the only song i heard was the one she was messy at the VMAS, and maybe if i search more about pop culture i now i can find albums that were praised for the music and changed pop culture

It is just because it was released at the most tragic time in her life and career and some people felt for her deep, and it got the song that became her most known signature tag line: It's Brinni bihhh!

BLACKOUTbritney

Gimme More, Break The Ice, Get Back, Piece of Me, Hot As Ice  and Get Naked are some of the best songs in Britney catalog

The album has a IDGAF bad girl attitude the entire album (something Gaga was even inspired by on the fame) not to mention the entire production of the album set up the electro pop club records that swamped the world in 08

The themes of fame, loneliness and sex perfectly address what she was going through in her personal life

Its also the last album where Britney had creative control. After the whole Orginal Doll mess Blackout is still her only record she was executive producer on.

It really is an iconic record (for good and bad reasons) but as a whole is one of the best pop albums of the 00s and deserves its spot in the rock and roll hall of fame (where it was inducted in 2012) and Rolling Stones list of best albums of the 00s

Blackout and In The Zone are her best albums.

The only good thing Baby one more time has is the title track other than that it's a big filler. :emma:Who listens to soda pop/email my heart when he has Breathe on me/Break the ice/Get naked?

You can say the same about Bad Romance and The Fame Monster

I'll post this and run away to a cave to protect myself from the members of this site

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Toxic is easily one of her best songs.

Blackout is OVERRATED and BAD.

Blackout was the first album when she had her breakdown which made her extremely interesting.  Plus people expected something terrible and it's an amazing album, had hits, and was kind of dark.  It was such a time in Britney world.

Blackout is definitely one of her best, if not the best album. The sound, lyrics, and production were handled very well and it definitely had an impact on pop culture and pop sound that came after it.
