One of the strongest most interesting midtempo ballads of her career, Madonna is in top form for "Intervention".    The melancholic foot tapping music bed combined with a lyrical prayer to a lover lost in the chemical sea, the combination makes a devastatingly haunting yet immensely hopeful listen.  - @MonsterJames333

This is, in my opinion, Madonna’s absolute best song. The guitar intro always gives me chill and the first verse is so beautiful and meaningful. She’s speaking about motherhood in such an intimate and truthful way. Even if I have kids one day I will never know what it’s like to be a mother but Madonna gives me those feelings perfectly. The song took a whole new meaning, especially after the Rocco situation over the past year. This is my favorite side of Madonna and I wish she would go back to being this artist. - @Bio

I really love the lyrics of this standout track. It feels like a tribute to her 'Like A Prayer'' era with the glitch electronica. Her vocals always shine on acoustic type of songs like this and the gospel chorus is a highlight.  - @Dr Evil

The mid-section of the album is probably Madonna’s greatest ever. Nothing Fails is an extremely chilling song and listening to this is a must to any pop fan. This woman redefined what pop music means and this is a perfect example of it. The lyrics are so simple yet beautiful and straight to the point. Conveys the feeling of love and safeness perfectly. Who else would mix electronic beats with guitars and a choir and result in such a delicate precious song? - @Bio

A fan favorite, Nothing Fails flounders to the ear of this listener.   Sure, the verses are beautiful, the vocals romantic and the crescendo into a full blown choir is a tried true ingredient for a perfect Madonna song.  Somewhere along the lines, it simply doesnt click.  Thankfully things do later in the album. - @MonsterJames333

Amazing song. Although the lyrics are some of the most comforting and happy in this album, the song sounds incredibly sad and melancholic. The anthytesis makes perfect sense because in the end, everything did fail in the relationship she talks about. The choir gives the song a perfect climax. - @Johny Wayne
