Werk 13,166
How I would probably describe this song is that it's weak but still manages to bop? I find the verses and pre-chorus/choruses decent when you separate them but adding them together makes the song extremely weak as if they were too lazy or uninspired to come up with a better melody during the verses if y'all get what I mean. There's just nothing really new about this song to the point that it still makes me bop and feel uncomfortable at the same time . Although I'm curious to why it's flopping considering the dance dance part is very catchy . I also recommend if the bubble bubble part isn't there. JohnWayne23 5,227
This is actually in my top 5 of Katy Perry singles, and favorite since Teenage Dream era. The market just isn't very friendly to female artists lately. So many have fallen in the last two years.
TropicOfCANCER 6,292
like some have said, this song just feels very flat. I cant really explain it but it provokes no emotion in me when I hear it.

And yeah, the word she uses is "cheesy" when referring to pop songs she has written for more mainstream artists. I like Move Your Body, which was made for Shakira who ended up not using it. I guess it all depends on one's own taste. I mean, Move Your Body, lyrically, is nothing more than a bland pop song but something in the production and the chorus gets me jumping every time I hear it, same with Cheap Thrills and a few others. I get what you're saying. There's some stuff she did for Kylie Minogue where the sound of the songs chorus and melodies were heavenly, but the actual lyrics were a bit cheap. I feel like she's more prone to keep the good stuff for her own albums. I think Sia is great at writing catchy pop music, it's just her lyrics can get iffy, which is understandable since she's so prolific, I guess. holy scheisse 22,275
To me it's just too much that she's talking about being a "zombie" and stuck in routines and patterns etc and mass normalcy blah blah blah whatever her "political angle" is and yet she is like the definition of mass produced, mindless, commercially canned music lol. She's just not and never has appeared genuine to me. Flop song concept for kathy

Tommy Monster 846
I´ll give you two reasons: "Dance to the distortion" "Like a wasted zombie" How could someone expect success with that kind of lyrics??? But I kinda started to like the song anyway
