If we compare it to 1 week ago its waaaaaay slowing down. radios get those callout scores before theyre published. they got some for MR and they said they were good, but they're not out yet

I'm surprised, its not like its sonically polarizing. She's had far more annoying songs. The only things I can think is a turnoff is people might feel its on the preachy side, and that it's not really on-trend - it feels strangely like it should have come out 3 years ago IMO.

It's just a really bland song, and the fact that Sia wrote it, an artist I actually like, is baffling to me, even, like Sia could write up something better than this. The production leaves a lot to be desired as well, it's just so bleak, no change at all.

I think Sia's rent-for-hire songs are often cliche and borderline awful. Perfume and its dog relieving itself near a fire hydrant-type imagery is a prime example. Judging from interviews, I feel like not even Sia really believes in these songs, and is more concerned about whether they sell.

tbh, the snippets for Goddess sounds like a downgrade, CTTR is really catchy & it was loved by a lot of monsters, im shook it didnt do that good & everyone's praising Goddess when clearly CTTR is better    but again, i wouldnt trust in my taste for chart succes

Hmm, interesting to see what will happen. I've never followed charts closely, and not radio callouts at all so I don't know how Gaga's other singles have done. Just like @Martin Garrix I thought CTTR would have gotten better scores and done better overall, but then I thought PI would have been a hit, so...

There's just been so much music out recently Katy has taken a back seat for me.  

I like it but don't love it. Pretty much how I feel about all her lead singles. Then she slays me with the album.

I played it on loop non-stop for the first week it was released.

Still love it tho (and LOVE the video). 

But overall Katy is looking desperate this era...

- "in your face" political commentary (trying to change her pop tart image)
- unapologetically stealing Miley's 2014 haircut
- grabbing hunty Shawn Mendes' butt
- lowkey mocking Britney's head shaving when she knew 2 weeks later she was gonna shave her own damn head. 
- Blatantly infusing Gaga Joanne imagery into the album launch promo at every turn (securing streams from all the Little Monsters)

But then again, she's always used these stunts (Left Shark, fake Sesame Street boob scandal, etc...).

I do love me some Katy Perry tho, I'm not hating.

Well, yeah, Sia herself has said that she often leaves her ego at the door when writing for other artists and has hinted that Katy is difficult to write for. And yeah, the word she uses is "cheesy" when referring to pop songs she has written for more mainstream artists.

I like Move Your Body, which was made for Shakira who ended up not using it. I guess it all depends on one's own taste. I mean, Move Your Body, lyrically, is nothing more than a bland pop song but something in the production and the chorus gets me jumping every time I hear it, same with Cheap Thrills and a few others.
