boyerased 2,886
Logistics. Markets where concerts are usually held are divided by ocean. These markets include Southeast Asia and East Asia. Most of the time they only do one show per country that's why if Beyoncé will tour Asia she will have to bring her production to a new country by plane per show. That's not worth it. Smaller artists usually do visit Asia because they couldn't care less about their production. A led screen and blank stage will do which can be provided locally. Harry 26,836
Money and logistics. Japan in particular is huge which is why artists that can draw numbers there make big dollars. I.e. the Born This Way Ball making over $18m there from just three shows, Taylor Swift making $10m from two on the 1989 Tour, Michael Jackson's famous Tokyo Dome shows etc... It's a lot to ship all of the equipment and set there for a major tour and then ship it again from country to country for each show unlike in North America or (most of) Europe, where it can basically just be transported on the road. Simply, if you aren't a major star there and can't sell large quantities of tickets at high prices in that area, then the costs of putting on the show likely aren't worth it. ItsTommyBitch 12,640
Depends on their music and the interest. Japanese market usually only really loves music from Japan enough to sell our tours in large places. Very few American artists have ever been that popular to sell out places like Saitama, Tokyo Dome, etc, and for many, not even the smaler ones. That being said, native artists actually do often tour Asia, especially the ones known as more "Gay friendly" like in the past, Mariah Carey, Celine, Madonna, and now Gaga, Ariana, Katy (I think?) etc. A (It's not that there are tons of gay fans in Asia, its just a loose correlation because men are much more open to enjoying female artists and in essence "stanning" for them than they are over here I feel) Of american artists though, I think its really only the pop stars that tour Asia because they are the only people that tend to reach their ears. Korean groups tend to do better I believe with touring, esp. since many times they speak Japanese and sometimes even have Japanese music or covers (ex: Girls Generation) 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Alot of artists seem to do just North America and Europe, I'm guessing most of their market is there. Idk. Maybe cost. Maybe they don't wanna put on 1 more show. Idk. RAMROD 109,406
It can be anything really. Say, Madonna avoid Japan because she hates the weather, because when she was there for Blond Ambition Tour, everything was a mess because of bad weather. She said this openly on Truth or Dare. Other may be because too expensive. And for some other, maybe they are too sexual for Asia. They are have their own values and protocol over there. And for some visionary artists, compromise, either for songs or costume, is not an option. bubbletea 364
it's kinda funny that question because there are to kind of popstars (the ones who do well in Asia and the ones who doesn't) Actually the popstars who sell in japan, they include a lot of asian concerts in their tours (I'm talking about Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, Ariana Grande...)
