Remy had a fire diss track and an ehh diss track.

This isn't a diss record from Nicki though, she says so herself. This is supposed to be a hit record that she disses Remy on. It's comparing two different things - Love Remy, she had the killer diss track but I know Imma be bumping to No Frauds for the next month cause it bumps

Both artists get what they want out of it, Remy gets more exposure and respect while Nicki continues to make hit records and gets to continue on with her career at the top of her field.

Comparing Shether to No Frauds just doesn't seem to make much sense. Shether is the better diss track, No Frauds is the better song - but Remy wasn't trying to make the better song and Nicki wasn't trying to make the hardest diss track. They are both carving out different territories.

I doubt this is it for Nicki either - she will spend the next year sending subliminal and obvious disses at Remy on hit songs. Whether you like it or not, that's Nicki's playbook and that's all she really needs to do, she doesn't need to engage with Remy in a battle of bars.

I reckon Nicki is willing to take the L in the short term - long term it's just a couple more hit songs under her belt and she will be able to shrug Shether off as if it didn't bother her and as if she came out on top in terms of her career.

Making a Murderer part 1. Is a harder diss track at Drake than No Shopping was at Joe Budden but Drake isn't bothered. Nicki is just taking a page out of Drakes book, let the competition come with the hard bars trying to knock them off the top and they respond with the hit records that just consolidate the fact they are on top.

Child....Remy broke the internet with a diss track. Nicki had nothing to say to Remy. The whole Hip Hop community gave Nikci an L.

Please stick to discussing pop music lol its oh so clear that you have very little knowledge of how the hip hop community works.

I'm allowed to have my opinion, just like you guys! :)

No hate, I just like the way she responded. Congrats on your crowd mentality, I think for myself though ;)

Have a lovely day you pleasant people!!!

Maybe ask yourself why you're so offended that my opinion is not the same as yours? Like you don't even know these people. Getting mad about it and reply this many times to the same thread is just kinda... sad? Not to be rude I just find it kinda weird.

Exactly. That is the problem. Nicki has done better tracks that dissed people aka Roman's Revenge. Everyone was expecting a hype Nicki to come and kill Remy, but she didn't. Making a response song with features and subpar lyrics is no way making her win this battle.

I don't know that Nicki cared about winning this battle though - that's what I think people are ignoring. Roman's Revenge was on her debut album, she was still trying to prove herself - now Nicki is in a different position, she is the highest selling female rapper, she is breaking records, she is making hits.

Yeah Remy came at her with a harder diss track, but Nicki wasn't interested in making a diss track. Remy came for her, she came for the crown talking about how Nicki wasn't the queen of rap and how she was going to destroy Nicki's career so obviously Nicki had to respond, but there is no benefit for Nicki to go bar to bar with Remy. First off, Nicki would lose - Remy has better bars - but secondly Nicki's strength is that she is commercial. She can call herself the queen of rap because she is selling.

No Frauds, as Nicki herself has said, is not a diss track. It's supposed to be a hit song where she happens to diss Remy on it. She defends herself, and sends some shots, but the win for Nicki is that although Remy came hard for her she is still standing and releasing hits. Remy couldn't topple her, Nicki is still dominating.

Like, I would have loved Nicki to go in and actually make a diss record, but that would shift it to be on Remy's terms and Remy would win hands down. Nicki making hit records that contain shots to Remy is her way of responding and it's going to be the best we will get from her. It's like Drake vs Joe Budden, Joe went way harder, but it didn't affect Drake in the slightest.

There is just no incentive for Nicki to mess with the status quo. She aint going to respond with a hardcore diss track, she is going to release bangers that show she is still on top of the game. Nicki is the one running the charts, that's what makes her culturally significant and that's what makes her entitled to the "Queen of Rap" title. Until Remy can match her on that level Nicki won't see her as serious competition, I don't really blame her either.

It's an unnecessary risk for Nicki to scrap with Remy on that level - She somehow wins the battle and at best she gains nothing, at worst she loses some of her commercial appeal with a 'flop' single. She loses and her currently undisputed title as Queen is challenged. Her best strategy is to just reaffirm that she is the chick to call for a hit song and to reaffirm her place as a powerhouse in the industry by teaming up with Drake and Lil Wayne and releasing a single that's likely to smash harder than anything Remy could do.

Remy delivered just shy of 7 minutes of unstoppable bars wrapped with fact and friction.  I was quite impressed.  Lil' Kim has one that I am fond of.  If you are interested, you won't be disappointed.  Kim's flow is undeniable:
