That's awesome and congratulations to her :flutter: One of her biggest hits (Firework) was very inspiring and has helped many people through their problems when society's been against them so I don't see why people are acting like this is completely out of the blue :duck:

How on earth does Katy Perry get this award before someone like Gaga who has an entire foundation dedicated to helping youth, specifically LGBT youth??????

Did Christina Aguilera get her's yet?

Cuzz if not HRC...you're failing the movement

Remember this scene from Christina's 2002 music video?

That's conception was pretty much copied in Katy's 2010 music video:

Does Gaga have one? If not, then Katy doesn't deserve one either. No flamebait, but Obama literally himself said that people were scared of Gaga when she showed up to political ceremonies advocating for gay rights. What has Katy done? Just curious.

Pardon my ignorance, but I've never seen her advocate apart from releasing a self-empowerment song that had two gays in :oprah:

In my messy era.

Gaga's Superbowl performance singing "Born This Way" alone has impacted more LGBT people than Katy's whole career. If Gaga hasn't been honored before then,

Not acting out of the blue though. Many other artists out there who were more actively advocating about LGBTQ rights and equality who deserve this award better.

If only one song is what it takes for someone to be awarded, when some other people literally dedicates their time and life for the greater good, then Lord help us.
