It really depends on where you live if healthcare is an issue or not. If you were to ask me which is more important...your health or your entire life...obviously your life is more important, so yes everyone in the entire world needs life insurance because we'll all die eventually whether or not it's natural, sickness, or an accident and we always need to be prepared for tomorrow isn't promised. You mean for people that are in poverty? (Which is Medicaid) Or school clinics on college campuses for basic illnesses? Where are these free clinics for working people? Young people can get cancer, need to have their appendix out, get in car accidents, break bones, get infections... A minor surgery can cost thousands of dollars, a car accident could cost tens or even hundreds of thousands! That debt will follow you for the rest of your life and make you a bad risk for borrowing money. Say goodbye to getting a new car or ever buying a house. If you are young, single and making under 40K, it is very reasonably priced...especially for an insurance with no preexisting conditions and with no lifetime limit! So, you hate the fact that we have to pay for insurance from employers? The only way to get free insurance is to be in poverty or move to another country, become a citizen, and have much higher taxes. Either way, there is a cost.
