TFM is basically Lady Gaga at her darkest; her dark artistry. It's an album full of emotion but it's controlled, precise, confident, and perfect. ARTPOP is Lady Gaga at her "brightest"; it's all the craziness uncontrollably released in the form of electronic music, which is why it's so messy. I don't think of BTW as "dark". My preferred word of choice would be "heavy" (pun intended) But I'll have to choose ARTPOP because of my emotional connection to it. Something about it's imperfect nature really engulfs me.
