What To Expect From Joanne World Tour Stage ?

History of Lady Gaga's Performance Designs
Monster Ball 1.0: Es Devlin (Goddess of Stage Design)
Monster Ball 2.0: LeRoy Bennett (PS: Backdrop videos created by Es Devlin were used)
Born This Way Ball: Mark Fisher from Stufish
ArtRave: LeRoy Bennett
All Joanne Era Performances & Super Bowl: LeRoy Bennett

Seeing the trend, Joanne World Tour is most likely to be designed by LeRoy Bennett. To be exact: Es Devlin works with creative angles, impeccable backdrop videos but little to no decor. She creates the decor out of lights and screens. Probably the most creative stage designer among three.

Spoiler

I am sure nobody would deny that Monster Ball 1.0 was the most holistically integrated performance Gaga has ever done, they fit a world into a theatre stage in a very innovative way, used mirroring images, how they give the sense of depth with positioning of screens etc.

Stufish I will assume Gaga stopped working with them since Mark Fisher died. Stufish also designed stages of MDNA Tour, U2's 360 Tour(highest grossing tour ever).
Stufish seems like they like to use elaborate backdrop videos and physical decors together, Stufish simply makes the most grandiose stages among 3. Unlike Es Devlin, Stufish doesn't use in your face spot lights\lasers too much.

LeRoy Bennett ,biggest characteristic of Bennett designed shows is lack of backdrop videos. If there is backdrop videos, they seem to be sloppy like the bubbles of ArtRave. Bennett's designs seem to have more of a classic rock'n roll edge, with lots of fire, stage decors, and blasting (mostly not very organized) lights.

Spoiler

Since Beyonce's Mrs. Carter World Tour (which also did not have proper backdrop videos), only big pop tour created by Bennett is ArtRave. The best recent show he created is Weeknd's 2015 North America Tour in my opinion which is sort of not enough for Gaga.

You can see that he used little light cubes (on light towers) and fire sticks from Super Bowl too.

I wish Es Devlin designed the stage but it seems like Bennett will design the stage, we will get only simple backdrop videos if any, lots of blasting lights, I would say probably lots of fire for this era. It is not easy to predict how Gaga can surprise us considering Bennett does not have super creative shows in his CV imo.

I would love the stage to be futuristic yet simple with the SB stage aesthetic

I am praying that she's planning on doing a more theatrical show like the MBT with a storyline and different sets for each section of the show

hope it's not like The Weeknd's 2016 tour stage, it's super unuseful and boring

and btw I think the backdrops for the artRAVE were mainly made by Ruth not by the stage designers, she's the creative director behind the rave aesthetic short films used for the tour

Bennett made the TBMT 2.0 but concept is the same with Monster Ball 1.0, even setlist isn't changed that much, all the backdrop videos used for MB 2.0 were videos of Es Devlin's original show. Only thing he did was decors and thinking how to adapt Devlin's design for theatre performances into an arena stage. By decors, I mean a part of it. Some decors did not change (aka piano, Bad Romance's rotating stuff).

It is an amazing show but even though only being responsible for half of it, that seems to be Bennett's career peak in terms of creativity.

I did not know that.

Well, I hope Gaga drops his ass then. ArtRave barely had any backdrop, they might have used dancing aura like whatevers of Windows Media Player, and only lil monsters would notice the difference :air:

Es Devlin is the best stage set designer ever. She needs to work with her again
