If she ignores ARTPOP at Coachella then it means she really wants nothing to do with it and we'll have to let it go.

I think the whole era really hurt her more than we imagined. Poor Gags  :diane:

I'm not really used to music that is (or used to be) mainstream, with Billboard top 10 hits, etc., so I'm not used to caring about this sort of thing. So let me tell those of you who don't know this already: The fans' opinion matter more than the GP's opinion. So "Master of Puppets" is a more important Metallica album than the Black Album, and "ARTPOP" may be every bit as important as Lady Gaga's "The Fame". It doesn't really matter that it has sold less, what matters is how many fan favorites which are played in her concerts it has.

Coachella is a festival, not a Lady Gaga concert. Meaning it's not aimed only at her fans. So she may choose not to play songs from "ARTPOP" at Coachella (she didn't at the Super Bowl), but still play them in her own concerts.

A library where you can borrow CDs ? That's so cool that they still do that in 2017. Maybe ARTPOP is one of the new ones they added? Or not a lot of people borrow CDs there and just go for The Fame/Born This Way since those are most known. What about Joanne?

I think each of her albums is special in a different way. I don't think ARTPOP is her best record by any means, but it has a spot in my heart and it's super shitty that it was dismissed. There are so many gems on the record that haven't had ANY exposure, that nobody has heard, and it's ****ing rotten because they're wonderful.

Why everybody says that ARTPOP floped when it debuted at nr.1 and has sold 3.5 milSPS  ( 2.5 mil till July 2014) and is gonna be platinum in the US if Interscope wakes up and the singles from that album were moderate success ( Applause is a hit 3x platinum in US ,14 weeks in Top10!!!) only G.U.Y can be named a flop :madge:

I wish Joanne would flop like ARTPOP in terms of sales :neyde:

Wikipedia explains the problem of why the album was not viewed as successful:

"Some journalists felt that the more mixed response from critics (in comparison to her previous work) was unfair and stemmed from a focus on Gaga herself and not purely on the album's content. Nick Messitte of Forbes criticized music critics, denouncing their reviews as being "incoherent" and focusing on the "artist over the art itself," accusing them of "bend[ing] over backwards to mention everything else before the music". He summarized that ARTPOP "delivers a welcome departure from standardized verse-chorus structures" and is ultimately a "bold" album.[112] Ed Potton from The Times concurred, stating that "It's a wonder you can hear Lady Gaga's third studio album over the sound of knives being sharpened" following her previous album Born This Way, a work he felt ARTPOP was far superior to.[113] Robert Christgau of The Barnes & Noble Review claimed that the album's "critical reaction [was] clueless", ultimately naming ARTPOP "2013's most underrated album".

If you look at the "Accolades" and "Commercial Performance" sections of Wikipedia, you will find that ARTPOP was not a flop.

ARTPOP was really a big creative evolution for her. She was experimenting with such a diverse range of  sounds and colours and you really got the impression that she really didnt give a fuk and was just doing whatever she wanted. Its production made her previous albums look kind of amateur in comparison but since it flopped everyone started to think there was something wrong with it. It truly was a reverse Warholian expedition and i'm still recovering :sis:

ARTPOP is a masterpiece IMO.

It had the worst release time though.

Nobody's gonna heal me if I don't open the door
