They are very different artists so I think they will have equal success within their audiances

Katy's planning on releasing singles til she gets a hit before the album so u never know

+ what promo can Lorde have now? Katy got Grammys and Brits, Lorde got... idk nothing? Have to see how Green Light does in the next few weeks

I think it could be equal bit Lorde isn't as known yet like Katy.

My friends probably would not know who she is unless I played Royals lol

I wouldn't doubt it if Katy is carefully choosing the biggest bop or even reworking songs to get a hit. :smh:

Lorde however, even if Green Light wasn't getting a positive reaction, probably would've still continued in the direction she's had planned.

So, because Katy is actually working towards that commercial success, even if it's at the price of her artistic integrity, I'd expect her to reign over Lorde in that department. Even if it is just a little, like one smash song.

Lorde's era will get more acclaim and feel bigger overall. Lorde is still a relatively new artist so more people are going to be checking for it.

CTTR has had a lukewarm reaction, and there is no hype for the album.

i agree, Lorde isn't that oversaturated in the gp i think since she's released Pure Heroine 2013 while Melodrama is out 2017 so... i guess Katy Perry is around since 2007(?) and regularly released an album while topping the charts all the time.

i hope and think that lorde will slay. she was well acclaimed and stanned for during her Pure Heroine era. everywhere they played tennis court, royals and team

How is this even a question. Katy has millions more fans than Lorde. Of course her album will do better. Katy actually has multiple #1 singles, albums, Vevo numbers, world touring power and name recognition. Lorde only had one big hit on a world scale and that was 3.5 years ago and she's pretty much considered to be a one hit wonder in the grand scheme of things. It's not even worth asking who will do better. Critical reviews are the only area that Lorde will do better in. Honestly, I like to have a bash at Katy like a lot of GGD members but I'm not delusional about what she can achieve. The lengths some of you will go to discredit her are quite astonishing.

Outshine in what way?

By comparison, Lorde have more Grammys than Katy, so her music will be judged differently than Katy's and Lorde may cone out triumphant again.

Lorde's sakes aren't dissapointing either, though it was never so out if this world. So nobody should be worry about Lorde, she will be fine.

This so dumb, ofc KAty Perry will be more successful. Unless there's much better than that first single, a true hit that turns heads over Lorde like Royals, this isn't even a question.

Also Katy ~perry's demographic is much easier to satisfy than Lorde's.

GGD is so delusional, i really honestly can't.
