Joemayzin 4,028
i loved the power rangers growing up, not going to lie but the Original "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie" was incredible so with this one i have to watch myself to determine if it satisfies my needs as a fan lol the original blue ranger actually came out of the closet years ago, always had a thing for him growing up and now i know why
jxckk 959
It looks ok, nothing I would quickly run to the cinema and see. Not keen on this interpretation of Rita Repulsa + it all just seems to far away from Power Rangers as a franchise. Its like what Michael Bay did to Transformers by the looks of it. dlioncourt91 765
As if MMPR was some masterpiece to begin with. We get blinded by nostalgia a bit too much that we seem to forget the dubbed Zyuranger footage was pretty much the entire show with American teenager footage built around it. It was campy, silly and a phenomenon yes but we got 3 seasons of it, a movie back in '95 and the Zordon arc ends beautifully in Space. For this new reboot rehashing the silliness and camp of MMPR wouldn't work. With everything taking a more serious/dark approach, it would be inevitable Power Rangers would follow in suit. You have Rita stating she's killed Rangers, in a trailer (combating with the Rangers themselves, something MMPR Rita never did) and judging by the looks of it, something a bit more substantial than the original show. Sure, changes take a while to get used to but as a huge fan of the original series, it definitely would be not be a wise thing to simply rehash the original setting of the show in today's climate of Avengers/X-Men/Batman/Superman movies.
