I bet anything that she had John Wayne ready to go for the third single (i.e. the VS Fashion Show, music video) because there were ready to move on gradually but here comes her messy team back tracking it. I love MR and it's always been one of my favorites but I don't care, it's time to move on. AND I DO NOT CARE ABOUT RADIO UPDATES. I never hear it on the radio in my area anyway. They only play the Chainsmokers and Ed, like every other radio station in the USA. You literally make no sense and clearly know nothing about how charting works. MR is the current radio single. Why in the world would her team drop it now when it's getting 2/3M AI increases on radio every day? No other song other than Lorde is even coming closer to her on Pop or HAC in terms of increases. 10 radio stations added it to power rotation this week, with 18 putting it on sub power and several, several others spinning it 5-6 times a day. Radio is clearly eating this up and you want her to just drop it and move on because it's been 5 months? Interscope and her team obviously realized this was the song that had the most potential to become a hit, and thank god they didn't give up because now it's paying off big time. It's probably going to peak around the 60s-70 when radio sees it dropping. I think it's iTunes position is what piqued them to play it tbh. She has no streaming power so that's out the window. I think it will depend on the callout score. IF they are really great they won't just drop it because it's in the 40s/30s/20s instead of top 10. Before today only 2 songs of the 10 most played radio songs was in the top 10 of Itunes. Just look at Rihanna, 33 and dark red and have never really touched the top 10, but it still managed to go top 5 on radio with over 150 ai

Lol no. iTunes has nothing to do with radio playing it or not playing it. Otherwise why would LOTB be at 150M AI? It's never gone higher than like 20 on iTunes ever. Radio started playing it because they saw good research and good potential for it. Interscope went to the major radio programmers, showed them their early callouts and whatever other research they had, persuaded the stations to play it, and they did. Z100 gave it a chance before anyone else, and that caused a lot of other stations to follow suit. Z100 probably got good callout research which influenced KIIS to add it to power as well. All these people in here talking when they know nothing about how any of this works so annoying

ArtGagaPop 61,940
btw anyone has the sreaming (spotify) numbers of recent big ballads? LOTB only has about 40m more streams then MR and it has been out almost a year longer with peformances over the year and now recently added to TTH. Maybe the type of sound MR is just not doing that well on the streaming format in general and it's not really anything about mr doing bad in particurlar? Ofc it would done better with more playlists but still

It's an interesting read, very much chart-related, mentions Gaga and speaks the God honest ****ing truth about how streaming has ruined ****ing everything. "That's why you'll see the likes of Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Olly Murs or Lady Gaga near the top of the downloads/sales chart, but hardly making a dent in the full chart with streaming. Maybe that'll change in time, but who knows?" Poor Gaga. Always ruling the chart with pure sales but losing in streaming figures And I wonder It wasnt Love It wasnt Love

Releasing another single when the current one is showing more hit potential than any other song on the radio currently is just foolish
