Haroon 49,685
I think if she cut short the beginning part with the patriotic stuff and made Million Reasons shorter then there'd be enough time for Applause Wish there was too, that single deserved some attention Even if it was just a small mention like how The Edge of Glory was mentioned, but the closest thing to Applause in the whole show was the crowd clapping
Leeo 2,366
She was just smart and the whole show was focused basically on her peak: The Fame\The Fame Monster. If we count TF+TFM as one, she basically sang 4 singles from the same album (Just Dance\Poker Face\Bad Romance\Telephone), used a "known-track" (Dance in the dark) for the intro and during the same intro she mentioned every single from The Fame (even LoveGame.......) and probably used the line "I'M ON THE EDGE" because everyone was rooting for the song to make the cut. then she sang Born This Way & Million Reasons. I feel sad because Applause deserved the spot too, but she show was focused to celebrate her past and showcase the current single and that was it basically. Not a Bad thing, just that...missed applause, lol.

gagaohlala 815
And no one speaking about the real forgoten good sis Perfect Illusion ? Which could have been placed instead of some part of Bad Romance Little Monster | Diamond | Cry Baby | Lana Del Rey
ShayCristoforo 10,607
Yeah I think if she only did 1 verse of MR, it would've allowed for more. Could've placed Applause after Just Dance.. provides a bit of a transition into the mood of MR. But it's also like, if she can only do 1 verse of MR then why bother, ya know? Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.
crisTEAne 21,059
a simple A-R-T-P-O-P during the intro would have been enough for my ARTPOPist heart. if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

RochesterJoannster 4,042
I think MR should have been performed exactly as it was! It got the attention that a current single should get! Telephone could have been swapped out, but I'm glad she left it instead. Even though I love ARTPOP, I never liked Applause much, and Applause would have been the only track from ARTPOP that made any sense to play. So I'm glad we got Telephone instead of Applause. She only included her older songs I think to remind everyone why they used to love her. Sadly true...
fede ARTPOP 6,751
That fking "God bless America" ruined everything, she spent so many time doing it, that was the real problem. MAYHEM / ARTPOP
baptism 2,670
First of all, a lot of the success we're all seeing is due at least in part to the patriotic bullshit at the beginning. It made the GP love the **** out of her again and it silenced the "don't make it political" mother****ers who tried to sabotage the performance. So you show thank the great American GODS that she did that. ALSO, MR was perfect the way that it is. If it weren't for MR we wouldn't have gotten the "Hi Mom, Hi Dad" line and she wouldn't have been able to sing "stay" to a group of Mexican's which was super important. Telephone could have been axed for TEOG, Alejandro, Applause, or Perfect Illusion though.

This is Gaga, mate. She would've chosen to have opened with a statement. That's what sets her apart.
kupo 201
Nope. Sorry. It's not well-remembered or beloved. ARTPOP just didn't connect. And while I'm sure it might have been a tough decision for her to leave ARTPOP entirely unrepresented, it was the right decision. What really should have happened is Telephone being cut in favor of TEOG. TEOG is one of her singles that has "stuck" the most. I'd say it's second tier, behind Poker Face and Bad Romance, in terms of being a signature song. Sorta on the same level as Just Dance. This also would have simply worked better from a performance standpoint, as its a better showcase during a live performance than the frenetic Telephone. If Bey isn't showing up, Telephone just isn't a song that needs a strong live showcase (and I say this as someone who rates Telephone among her absolute best songs--I love it). To me, that was the one glaring issue in the set list.
