*scrubs fingers vigorously with steel wire for typing that*

When Michael dropped Invincible in Oct. of 2001 everyone called it a failure but it sold 360,000 copies in its first week and by Jan. of 2002, it had already gone platinum twice...so yeah...Katy, ha Invincible era :spin:

Only because Sony didn't promote it.

I'm telling you, 4th albums are cursed for pop girls.

Gaga, Beyonce, Rihanna, Britney....

In The Zone gave Britney her first Top 10 hit since 2000 and it came out in 2004.

it's not the kinda numbers that Katy has seen before - but nobody could sustain that level of success.

And when that happens, only talent  remains, but not everyone in the business has it

Yeah, I don't know with Katy. She has never really been a vocalist or a spectacular dancer performer. Not sure how good her acting is.

It's not necessarily career over for her - that would be an overreaction to seeing her lead single go #4 from #1's - but I can see her success slowly fading. She needs a rebrand, but she can't really go the same route Gaga did.

It will be interesting to see where she goes from here. I wouldn't count her out yet, but she can't just keep doing the same thing.

She's flopping to her own standards. A #4 debut is still impressive even if I think the song will only drop now. I read somewhere CTTR isn't even selling 10% of what Roar was selling

If this is true, this is both satisfying and sad. :koons: What is it about Roar, honestly?
