I don't really get why fur is bad tbh. it's not like we're hunting these animals and making them go extinct. if it was like..wild alligator skin or elephant tusk that's not good for the environment. But if you're gonna raise animals on a farm just for the fur....you do you.

They aren't raised on farms; they live in tiny over crammed cages, are underfed, often suffer health issues and often don't ever see the outdoors. It's a life of misery for an ugly shoe, that's the problem

This is an opinion, not a fact.

At the end of the day does "farmed responsibly" even mean anything substantial? It just sounds like another bullshit marketing term à la "free range, cage free, grass fed, humanely raised" to make people feel okay about their habits that contributing to the destruction of the earth and supporting animal abuse.

Watch below and do more research and you'll see why it's wrong.

"You do you", but what about the animals who have no say in the matter? Why are we entitled to their bodies for vanity? I respect the decisions of others as long as it's not infringing on the rights of other living beings.

I've seen all that stuff I just haven't made a connection to what the harm is beyond the individual animal's suffering? When there is another factor like species extinction or habitat/ecosystem destruction I can understand being against it. But if these are just farmed animals, however gross the "Farm" is, that get killed for the fur, I don't really see any actual negative impact. That said, since faux fur exists I don't understand why everything isn't just made that way since I can never tell the difference and there's just no need for going through all the trouble of raising and killing all those animals.

Kinda same logic for vegans, even though I'm not one, there's a reason to go vegan because CO2 emissions from animal farming are a large portion of the world's CO2 output contributing to global warming. Animal farming for fur I imagine is a tiny fraction of that, but I suppose we might as well get rid of it since we have faux fur.

I just reject the idea that it's a moral issue. It's unnecessary sure, but It's not really a big deal to me unless it's like...tiger fur and you're making something extinct.

You reject the idea that stuffing millions of intelligent, sentient animals into cages or catching them in painful, inhumane traps, and then brutally slaughtering them for vanity isn't a moral issue just because there isn't some apparent secondary effect? I agree with a lot of other points you made, but I'm sorry, I just can't relate to this perspective at all.

If you saw someone torturing/killing a dog or cat, you would hopefully feel inclined to stop them, so why shouldn't that sympathy and compassion be extended to other animals (many of which are related to dogs and cats) that are just as intelligent and sentient?

Ugh, celebrities who do fashion lines are generally appalling. It's unsustainable, their products wouldn't last a season and it will devalue in short-time. Also, it deflects the right recognition to the actual designers who has been honing their craft, most-of since when they were young. Thank the lord that Gaga is not doing her own line.
