They had charisma in the way they talked. Hillary's campaigning doesn't really compare to there's. Which is fine btw, I'll take qualified over charismatic. How many US presidents have ever had "the charm"? 'charm' is a basic characteristic that all presidents need. It's a skill that is necessary to be voted president and to be a good president. Being a bit of a technocrat is a must, but being able to forge a connection with people based on speeches is important for building trust (a big problem in politics all over the world), for talking with lobbyists and senators/representatives and for when difficult events happen (like 9/11). I'd say that Barack Obama had "the charm". A woman who had the charm? Michelle Obama. All politicians study their message by head or read from a teleprompter, but some do it in an inspiring way using their voice to move people to vote. It's not about sex (or at least it's a minor aspect here). Hillary simply doesn't manage to engage people who aren't already politically interested in her, she doesn't manage to make unenthusiastic people more enthusiastic and that's why voter turn-out was so low for her. but to be honest she's done it better before. I just want to see her as passionate as I know she is. It sounds like she's reading the teleprompter aloud, with tone, silences and such all studied. Nothing comes naturally..
