Morphine Prince 105,247
The inferno H2O has to be related to the Flint water situation. Also how we ingest things without knowing how bad they are for us. Also it seemed like only the white male achieved something at the wheel thng. The asian woman, black man, and Katy herself gave up or fell off.

crazyforgaga 332
Lol at people saying oblivia is connected to obvious. I think it's called that because of the word oblivian which is the complete opposite. Not being aware of something.

Noah X 5,250
2 hours ago, Werk said: From a Youtube comment: Jordan49 minutes ago (edited) Obviously has a really significant meaning to it and here's some things i've noticed The park is called Oblivia - a spin on the word oblivious, as people aren't seeing anything that's going on. The Fashion in the video - it's a really 80s looking fashion video meaning it's every generation who is oblivious to what's actually going on, and it's been going on for awhile. The American Dream Drop - This ride symbolizes the typical American family who wants to live in a dream house with a family and pets, but dreams don't always happen - symbolizing that not everyone is able to have the "American dream" as it is truly unobtainable. The rose pricked her for a reason, it drew blood and actually had her start "waking up" and noticing what's going on. The rollercoaster called "Love me" - it had likes, the hearts. and a classic smile emoji, due to this it is suppose the represent facebook, they have all those symbols. The majority of facebook users/social media influences always want the attention drawn to them, want people to love them. The giant fence - it is labeled Safe Trip Home. Perhaps in reference to donald trumps wall? The hamster wheel - Everyone is moving in a really zombiefied way towards the hamster wheel, where only a white male succeeds. When a woman/someone of a different race goes on it it is typically harder for them and they fall, symbolizing that it is typically easier for a white male to get by, then a female or a person of a different race - until Katy herself goes on it and shows all women they are capable of doing it just as well as the white male did. Bombs Away ride - They're literally nukes falling out of the sky, telling us how we are oblivious to how the rest of the world is at a constant war state and that America has been getting missile threats - yet we just ignore it and live in our bubble. Inferno H20 - This symbolizes a place where you'd typically stop to get something to eat or drink, but little do the people know it is literal poison they're putting in their body. People will blindly eat at fast food/restaurants and not even question what they're ACTUALLY eating. The Movie - When they go watch the movie the movie is called "A Nuclear Family shown in 3D!" - symbolizing that the family is toxic. When you see the woman ironing, the girl coloring, and they guy reading the newspaper are completely oblivious to what is going on in the current state of the world, it is only when Katy takes off the 3D glasses she can see the true meaning or symbolic meaning of trying to wake everyone up, as skip marley says "The truth they feed is feeble as so many times before, the greed of all the people" - saying that what they put out in the media is "feeble" and just what THEY want you to hear. When people are all walking around katy - she is shouting at the top of her lungs trying to tell people the truth but nobody is listening, cause they're all chained to the rhythm, chained to what they think is reality, when really they don't know what the truth is. that is the longest analysis I've ever seen for a Katy Perry music video.... who would've thought. Judas Oyster 1,914
What the heck. I'm overwhelmed. I don't usually listen or watch Perry's videos but this one I actually loved. There's a lot behind the visuals and the song, hidden meanings. I can actually "find" meanings so it's very artistic actually. Some people may just see it and think it's boring but it's a bold video and meaning of the song. And the "best" is how she ends the video, being very relatable to the public, because we know she doesn't live a ordinary life. She's just like "crap, we're doomed" living like slaves. The meaning is a lot like Ghost/Haunted by Beyoncé. Where she sings about "working from 8 to 5 and repeat just like ghosts" or something like that. Props to Perry for doing this. I kinda wish she was bolder than this but I guess she didn't want to take any changes by making it too obvious and decided to keep her image clean. I mean, after all she has a lot of young fans who wouldn't understand the message anyway at such a young age. It's just a smart move business and image wise. Still not a Perry fan, but this was cool. SKANK 14,288
I'm not a Katy Perry fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm really feeling this song and video. Sad pastels are my favorite pastels.
