What even >.>

I can see making a distinction between hard and soft bugs. But you've had both, so this is just nonsensical.

Personally, I'll stick to plants. Couldn't stomach the creepy crawlies myself.

:sure:

you cant compare this 🐜🐛

to this 🦂🕷

btw I said grasshopper but what I had were crickets, I had just woke up and couldn't remember the translation

crickets are a common snack in Southern Mexico. I live in the North. And the place where I had the 'soft bugs' is a pretty nice place where even Luis Miguel has eaten. (I hope you know Mariah Carey's ex Luis Miguel)

THANK YOU! I'm completely obsessed with everything that you listed and Cate Blanchett.

I would much rather eat a tarantula over a caterpillar/worm (don't get me wrong, I don't want to eat any of them).

The idea of eating the squishy ones especially creep me out :cryga: The kids described the hard carapace as tasting like flavorless potato chips, I think I could get behind that a little easier.

Scorpians kinda remind me of lobsters and eating them might not freak me out as much

Giant spiders tho 😳

They found out in my town once that a chinese restaurant was serving dog meat instead of whatever was on the menu. I guess I'll keep my homemade pasta :emma:

The Chinese restaurant in my town was capturing Sea Gulls on it's roof and serving them instead of chicken.... :toofunny:

I mean if a 5 star chef prepared some spider and scorpions for me, I'd probably ask for seconds too :poot:

No better way to conquer your fear than to catch the spider in your room and you can fry them :poot:

:cryga:

It's great to see her kids so welcoming to trying new things, I really admire her. When I was in Cambodia we went to many markets that cooked insects such as these, however the closest I got was putting a live tarantula on my hand. If i go back again maybe i'll try something.

A lot of people are grossed out by it, but insect farming has saved so many family's over there from debt and help repay debts as it's really sustainable and easy for family's to manage, especially where education among the older generation is scarce since Khmer Rouge. A family that we met - cricket farming literally saved them from having to send their youngest daughter (a minor) away to "get a job" (sex trafficking) as they were slowly but surely creating a new income and able to pay debts they owed.

Doesn't she have adopted children though? One of them is even from Cambodia, she's just embracing their cultural foods and stuff. To be making a big deal out of it and calling her "crazy" and "disgusting" is low key xenophobic imo. :saladga:
