Hades 27,980
Almost all of my friends like her but don't know much about her music. My best friend's(she is a girl) boyfriend told me yesterday that he adores Million Reasons. He also liked Perfect Illusion a lot. If they get into her they'll like her more. Soul Hybrid 97
I'm fine with that, at least they know the talented girl she is, but i'm sure if she promotes more Joanne, actually they will like her music too, like Mark said, Joanne is for those people that don't know Gaga has a song for them, for everyone that through she doesn't delivery other type of music besides electropop

I think with Joanne and her Jazz stuff, she's really opening up to everyone to enjoy her music. I think this image that metal isn't approachable is what ought to change if rock and metal wish to gain a bigger audience. Somehow, rock bands need to try risky things like what Metallica tried with Gaga at the Grammys to attempt to draw more females who tend to listen to pop and/or mixing up with different sounds to show their talent and flexibility. Metalheads can be like hipsters who always accuse bands of selling out when bands experiment, but how can the genre grow and adapt to 21st century tastes if everyone keeps music in their pocket in a sense? Do your own research.
Pity Party 743
No, I don't really discuss Gaga I live in a hillbilly town I'd rather not have to drag the lessors. That is how I feel about Beyonce tho tbh.
dit 46,473
Literally everyone i know says this. They either flat out still frown when you bring up her name and roll their eyes or they say she is very talented but lacks "good" music (in their generic taste). just another gay 836
Hope they take that back after listening to Joanne (aka a masterpiece)
Puddin 1,208
i hear that a lot, especially from the older, metal community. I mean, I appreciate that people think she's talented, but why put down her music? Liking pop doesn't make you any less intelligent or whatever haha. I'd love for people to appreciate her music more. MarryTheAngel 551
I always try to get people I know to give Gaga's music a chance. My brother, who is love with gangster rap, was just singing Slay-yo in the car with me. He thinks Joanne is his favorite Gaga album. So I think some of the dislike of her discography is rooted in shame of pop music.
TheGagaOfItAll 178
don't tell them freddie mercury and queen were essentially pop music for their time though, they go into a hissy fit about REAL MUZAK Nobody's gonna heal me if I don't open the door

pink sushi 4,351
Well I mean most of her music is pop music.... So if a person was only into something like heavy metal, rock, or rap I can see why they wouldn't like her music. They HAVE to admit she's talented though. CatelynnMarie 4,406
It's reductive Really kind of frustrates me a bit every time I hear it. You'd think being here in New York the fans would be abundant, but I've been hearing for years, "Oh that's the crazy one with the Rah Rah song right?" "She's talented but I just don't like her voice/music". It's really true she's an album artist and it's a total shame people just don't give anything a chance at all. Super frustrating and depending on my mood it pisses me off. I can respect the acknowledgement of an artist's talent especially when they don't listen to that genre of music, but to sit there and not even really know someone's hits, or just know one hit and base the entire discography and sound on that, I have no respect for
