Gaga's first work charted in 2008. That means that this year she will be celebrating her 9th year of her mainstream career.

Let's have a moment of realization and look at where other singers were at in their 9th year, to realize how long Gaga's been in this industry.

Madonna (1992)

Madonna's first song charted in 1983, so her 9th year of her career was in 1992. 1992 was the year Madonna released Erotica

Whitney Houston (1994)

Whitney's first lead song charted in 1985, making 1994 her 9th year. Whitney didn't release any material that year but won BIG at the 1994 Grammys for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Female Vocal Performance for her work on The Bodyguard Soundtrack.

Omg 9 years of Gaga

I remember the first time i saw her, it was on Miss Universe Vietnam (2008) performing Just Dance, back at the time this kind of music that she made wasn't so popular like it is today, so i thought that she was some kind of local artist of something hahaha
But after, i fall in love with her music and art.

Soul Hybrid

Wow i like this thread, and if you compared to Madonna or Whitney, Gaga actually it have some common with those woman, i mean, Erotica underperformed but is one of the most personal and one of the most aclaimed album of her, and Whitney received awards for the soundtrack of a movie that she was actually envolved in a role in that movie, i like that, you know she is growing so fast :whitney:

Ah the Erotica years. I remember the backlash all too well. I don't think I've ever witnessed a female popstar face as big a backlash with negative media attention, than Madonna did in that era.
