The album has no cohesiveness it's a collection of songs that don't go together IMO. So boo hoo. The real snub is that she lost best music film like why tf do they give that to some beatles documentary who cares. Lemonade had stunning visuals and deserved that award

Bey has TWENTY TWO GRAMMYS and you think that they're racist against her?!?! This makes my head hurt.

Literally the definition of pathetic use of the race-card.

25 is literally the fastest selling album of all time. It is literally the album of the generation. FAR more people have listened to 25 than Lemonade.

Plus Lemonade hasn't even had a hit! Zero impact outside of gay internet forums, Instagram, Tumblr, and the YouTube comment section. If it really had any impact it would've had a hit, plus Formation was even played at the Super Bowl and still struggled.

Meanwhile 25 is still going STRONG.

Hands down crushes Lemonade.

Literally this... Beyoncé is literally on the list of people who have won the most grammys in their career.. there is no bias against her at all and actually she's pretty much guaranteed a couple of them every time she's nominated. 25 is the album of the year in every single aspect and I think people forgot that because lemonade is more recent..

AOTY is about the album that made the most impact that year, not about who made a political statement that year.. Bey didn't even write the music or help produce it

My two cents is that Beyoncè didn't deserve the Grammy, she lost to Adele. Either Adele lost and the Grammys don't know talent or Bey lost and they're racist. People will always try to justify and attack someone kinda like how all of Gaga's albums have lost AOTY and yet we're still fine. So everyone should get over it.

Adele definitely deserved it. Besides, beyonce's lemonade writer's list is longer than her entire discography

Did you know the Grammys have segregated categories for black artists? They're called the Urban and R&B categories and most of Beyoncé's Grammys come from those. But it's very hard for black artists to win mainstream categories like Album Of The Year, Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year.

That's a seperate issue and I'm not too informed on it so I can't really discuss it but I do know that when it comes down to 25 and Lemonade specifically, 25 really was the album of the year, all the records it broke and the impact it had suddenly don't matter to a lot of people on here

Yes that's what came to my mind too. It's the AOTY award they're mostly talking about anyway. If black folk feel that their music is biased against, they should be allowed to express frustration and demand fairness. And there is either violent defence of them or violent attack against them; it's appalling how little empathy anyone has tbh.

And now I'm appalled by how rude, uncivil, condescending, impolite and ungracious the majority of the comments here are. Regardless of whom they support. Fake names and profile pictures give people such confidence to show attitude. Of all the communities, one that preaches of inclusiveness should have a better temperament.

my only beef is... solange wasn't upset when any of the other black artists didn't win AOTY.. she only decides to speak out and blame race when her sister doesn't win?? it's shady and shows she actually doesn't care about the racism issue, she's just using it for their agenda.

This. Where was she when Erykah Badu didn't win AOTY for her albums :hor:

Beyoncé deserved Album Of The Year, Adele even admitted it but Beyoncé kept it classy & was grateful, so why is Solange being extra?

She's gotta point though a lot of these awards have heavy racial bias & favor White artists especially for big awards

that's not true... If you take a look at the history of AOTY winners, you can clearly see that it's not because of a racial issue.

''Can Beyonce not do a visual album, not stir speculation about her marriage, not release it on HBO and still be talked about like Adele's? Doubt so. ''

''It is important for an album to have mass appeal and be genuinely meaningful, And the monster sales of 25 reflect that, Even The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill showed this.''

''If we are going talk about the message of the album and pushing boundaries  then Madonna would have multiple Album of the year Grammy`s and Gaga should have won for Born This Way.''

Also Solange said there's been 2 winners in past 20 years when it's actually 4, and it's not like you award based on skincolor so that the statistics are even. In that case how would asians feel?

Exactly.

I mean NO disrespect to Beyoncé. I love her and I really enjoyed her album. But I think people really inflate Lemonade's success a lot.

ARTPOP outsold Lemonade. ImpacT(?)

Maybe I could have an opinion about this if Lemonade was on Apple Music

If the message of Lemonade was so important to Bey she probably would want as many people as possible to hear it. I don't think she's as political as she wants to be seen. She's not very music not the bling

Gaga does plenty of non-music not the bling things and she coined the phrase so maybe get off that high horse
