ARTPOP preferred second single?

Both my non-LM friends love Venus and DWUW. My bestfriend says Venus is catchier, while others think DWUW is better.

DWUW could have been a great single if Troy didn't mess up... and also took another style. I'd love to see a video for Venus too, it's one of ARTPOP's iconic bops.

I think DWUW was fine for the second single.

I just don't think Applause should have been first. I know it did well on the charts, but I don't like it very much. At least not compared to many of the other gems on ARTPOP.

To be honest, both Venus and DWUW deserved their own time in the sun. Venus is a monster of hooks and EDM production which would have smashed with a classic Gaga video, and DWUW would have expanded her base to new listeners because of the R&B sound. They didn't have to compete

DWUW, but without the whole changing the single mess. It should have been beautifully executed with a music video and it honestly could have gone #1

Venus wouldve been a catastrophe chart-wise, worse than GUY. I literally dont understand why people think this wouldve been a good single. Far too off putting to non gaga fans. 
Wouldve loved a Venus video though, still a great song.
