If you would look at the OP she only represents BLM Toronto, and even then BLM is more of a slogan or hashtag than an organization with one specific leader. Now they threatened pride committee with disrupting the parade unless police flotilla was not banned. This represents BLM Toronto... They choose to apply discrimination they are supposed to fight against. I'm talking about the idea that skin color is affected by how far natives live from the equator. THAT can affect how skin color develops over time. I'm not defending anything. Please stop the ignorance. And like I said, she should've distract from the actual issues. Issues that do matter. And to be honest, BLM Toronto does have reason to be mad with the police due to the nature brutality and the history that it conveys. Stop making assumptions and start realizing the bigger issue. Forcing a ban on police flotilla is problematic in every way: Most importantly they contradict what they are supposed to stand for. They are supposed to be against discrimination, here they punish the institution and all its members for what some of their members did. That should be basic knowledge. And anyone who makes a big stink about it is calling for unnecessary arguments and debates. Talk about the REAL issues. These people aren't Trump or actual supremacists. They don't hold actual power because they lost all credibility. Hopefully the official BLM will do something about her and her friends. But in the mean time, you can help post positive things that BLM are doing in the fight against inequality. Because, in your opinion, that wouldn't be contradicting. Peace. By using the term "white passing", you present the whiteness as more desirable in one way or another. First of all, there is no such thing people of color, you polarize all those other people with respect to white people again which implies that "white is us and normal, rest is other and less" is prescribed in your mentality. There is no such thing called white people. Let alone scientific, it does not even have a popularly accepted folk meaning. More gravely, you consider all those people, white passing POCs because your mentality is fixated on "one drop rule". Jessica Alba for example, half latino, half white in your mind but your sick mentality interprets this as lost purity of whiteness. I mean I do not even talk about the fact that Latino is not a race. If we are gonna group up latins, are we gonna divide whites to slavs, hellens, germanics, nordics Are we going to call tanned southern Italians POC passing whites Sounds ridiculous, right. Moreover all those you mentioned are ethnicities to start with. Even in their logically crippled definitions, they are ethnicities: white americans, african americans, latino americans. Because white is not a race, even the naturalized racial categories don't have such thing as white: there are slavs, germanic ppl etc etc If you wished a unified american nation by psychological makeup that manifests itself in common mores, you should have only cared about citizenship but your language doesn't carry the mindset.
