What bias? It's clearly popular to hate Beyonce the same way it is to love her, which is part of the reason all of her albums are not critically acclaimed masterpieces. Most of her past albums have received mediocre reviews on the same level as the other pop girls, ST marked an artistic and creative uprising in how people viewed her critically.  She has released pop albums on the level of 25 and other albums released around that time in the past, even been the lead writer of some of the tracks on them  

The reviews that say why "Lemonade" is a good album actually explain in detail why its a good album in their minds though. Some even manage to get outside of the film's merit and discuss the musicality to the record. I don't think Lemonade is the best album of the year, but lots of people, even critics that have hated Beyonce in the past (for being just another pop girl) saw the artistic merit to the project as well as the musical brilliance of it. I know its easier to just believe that Beyonce has so much influence that almost every major publication that reviews music in this country put her album @ #1 or around their on their year end lists (which are usually super indie the higher you go) because they were kissing up to her or afraid of the Bey-Hive or being called "racist"...but when people are throwing facts and figures and explanations at you, which is really more likely. Occam's razor sis
