Thomas P 18,479
So before people come in here and say that I'm just some ****ing angry biased and pissed BeyHive member, hear me out. This was one of the worst years in a really long time for this award show. Only four performances were actually good. Beyoncé killed it, I don't care if you don't agree, cuz imo she was amazing, and Bruno slayed the prince tribute. A Tribe Called Quest and Abderson Paak. did amazing, and so did Chance the Rapper. That was it. I was really rooting for Katy, but hers was only okay imo, and gagaxmetallica would have been amazing if the Grammys wouldn't have ****ed everything up. Adele hello was basic for Adele, and nothing note worthy, and her George Micheal tribute is a viral trend tomorrow morning. (I love Adele, but it was all stuff I've seen her do and do much better) I already forget every other performance. Now the awards.....well I am going to sound like a biased BeyHive member, but it's not even that. I wasn't too pissed when Hello won for R/SOTY, cuz I felt it deserved it as much as Formation did, but when Beyoncé lost AOTY I screamed. Lemonade was an album that has done what so few albums have done in the past, and that is to define its year. Love it or hate it, it was the actual ALBUM OF THE YEAR. I really do appreciate Adele though, because she said what I feel deserved to be said. Dont come hate on me or Beyoncé, just because I'm sharing my opinion. I was really angry last year, the year before that, and now that I think about it, every year I've ever watched the show I've been mad. AOTY is a category that they just can't seem to get right. In conclusion, the Grammys have officially become what the VMAs are, and that's just another award show where people try to one up each other for relevance that will last a week. The recording academy lost all the little bit of respect I still had left. I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.
Queen1551 756
Overall, I think it was just a very messy show.

All music awards shows have become messy I mean look at the previous VMAs I could care less about nominations next year. I'd be happy if Gaga did a Britney/Mariah and just avoided it. She's had her iconic moments there and the show/nominee's/winners are just declining year by year
Sorcerer 12,507
It was a messy show technically and in production crew. Some awards were deserved (Chance The Rapper, Hello) and some were not (Chainsmokers). I respect your love for Lemonade and I think it is really great, but I think Adele and even Sturgill Simpson deserved it too.
Hades 27,980
It was the only award that belonged to her tbh. She may be overpraised but it was the only thing she was robbed.
Mister Gaga 22,920
I don't agree with you, i think that musically speaking, 25 is better than Lemonade, which is still a good album. But i do agree with you about the VMAs thing. Grammys are a popularity contest. 25 was far more popular than Lemonade in every aspect, that's why it won. In some cases, popularity matches quality (21, 25, TF/M), but don't be mad because grammys are not judging quality, they're compearing popularity and sales (see 1989 winning over HTPAB; see Purpose grabbing a nom for AOTY; chainsmokers winning a grammy). Was i clear? 25 deserved it imo, but i don't trust grammys. They mean nothing to me, and they have nothing to do with quality.
Bio 23,538
Award shows mean absolutely nothing anymore. I don't even want Gaga going even if she gets nominated next year.
DiscoHeaven23 35,007
Performance wise, I will say the names on the list made me so hyped to watch, but EVERY SINGLE performer had a less enjoyable performance than I was hoping for.

Same. Even wiith all big performers under one dome, the show was absolute cringe and messy.
Bryan Alcala 262
I don't personally know much about Lemonade OR 25 because I haven't really given those albums an equal chance. I love Adele and Beyonce, BUT I WILL SAY that Lemonade was extremely popular and the hype of the year from every corner of god's green earth. Everyone I knew was listening to this album at one point. So having that logic in mind, Lemonade SHOULD have won album of the year based solely on the fact that it influenced pop culture heavily this year and was considered a musical hit by many. Whether or not 25 and Lemonade were overhyped and personal feelings aside for Adele or Beyonce, I think the Grammys were a MESS this year and I can't even deal with the many flops it provided. Overall, Grammys 2k17: Put on your shades, 'cause I'll be dancing in the flames
Gohan 16,436
Beyoncé's performance was cringeworthy and so was her Holy Mary speech. And yes, you are angry and obviously biased because you are a Beyoncé stan. Anyway, the Grammy's just lost it by giving the Chainsmokers an award and even by giving AOTY to 1989. They just care about sales nowadays, they don't mean talent anymore. tryna go ask Alice, tryna catch that rabbit
Delusional Aura 5,129
Honestly I don't even want Beyonce to attend anymore more grammys. While 25 was a great album, adele already has AOTY for 21. Beyonce doesn't. Beyonce was snubbed.
Wenli 826
Stop taking the Grammys so seriously. They've been a joke for years.
Seeka 12,372
My opinion: I don't care about the awards. Like honestly, people are going to be unhappy, and you can have absolutely amazing music which is considered critically sh!t and wins no awards. The show didn't really pick-up until After Ed Sheeran. Im sorry but those tropical pop songs suck more live. The Weeknd was better, but Ed Sheeran was just awful because there wasn't a climax anywhere. But honestly, I cannot take Chance anymore. The Grammys' were enough. I don't want him ever again. He made me feel uncomfortable. Like God was uncomfortable. The Grammy's honestly need to stop doing mash-ups. While this years (Smile/Seven-Years Old) was better than that mess with Ellie Goulding last year nd whoever, it's still confusing, and doesn't really do much for either song. Beyonce had killer visuals, but she could've spent longer singing. That's my only problem. She could've spent longer singing. But Love Drought and Sandcastles are actually my favs from Lemonade. twenty-One Pilots were such cuties. They deserved that award. can we talk about Little Big Town for a moment? I want a full cover of Teenage Dream, and I wanted it YESTERYEAR. I could barely tell if Katy was singing. her backing track is too loud. But those visuals were on point. But I think she could've been more energetic. Also, didn't she skip her own bridge? Maren and Alicia had a memorable performance honestly. Like, I wasn't expecting them to harmonize that well. Gaga and Metallica would've been perfect if the mic hadn't failed. Gave me the feeling I was at a metal concert. I missed dele's opening performance but I adored the fact she wanted a redo. I give her props for doing that live. i remember what happened last year. She probably didn't want a "When We were Young" malfunction again. I kind of stopped caring soon after that.
