its obviously payola... I mean its barely selling and not even top 50 on Spotify.... it has good radio numbers but not that great to jump that much in one week...

They counted 50M of AI but in Overall it was almost 66M... a 25% less... Confirmed it is not the list in Kworb that is used by BB

Of course for Katy they didn't post the first week sales for old singles to compare

Katy Perry roars onto the Hot 100 at No. 4 with "Chained to the Rhythm," featuring Skip Marley. (The debut marks the highest for a song by a lead female since Adele's "Hello" launched at No. 1 on Nov. 14, 2015.) "Rhythm," released along with its official lyric video at midnight on Feb. 10 -- followed by Perry and Marley's performance of it on the Grammys two nights later -- debuts at No. 3 on Digital Song Sales (108,000 first-week downloads sold) and No. 15 on Streaming Songs (14.7 million), while charging 35-20 on Radio Songs (50 million in audience after its first full week of tracking).

Perry scores her 14th Hot 100 top 10 and the third-highest-debuting of her 25 Hot 100 entries. She bowed higher only with "Part of Me" (No. 1, 2012) and "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg (No. 2, 2010). She earns her first top 10 in nearly three years; she was last in the top 10 in January-June 2014 with "Dark Horse" (featuring Juicy J), which spent four weeks at No. 1 (marking her ninth leader).

"Rhythm," whose official proper video was released today (Feb. 21), previews Perry's forthcoming studio album, her first since 2013's PRISM, expected later this year.

Why cant they just admit that sales are flop. But she maintain to give payola to spotify and radio to make it bigger than it actually is. Im so pissed :rip:

The lead singles from Gaga's previous two solo pop albums both logged higher entrances than "Illusion" on the Hot 100. "Applause," from ARTPOP, started at No. 6 in 2013, before peaking at No. 4, and "Born This Way," the title cut from her 2011 album, opened at No. 1, where it spent its first six weeks, marking the longest reign of her three leaders. "Applause" began with 218,000 downloads sold and "Born," 448,000 sales.

Not a Katy stan but Im glad she is having success, just to piss off all the monsters that love to hate on other artists. Spread love like Gaga always says. And MR at 18 is actually pretty good!

Well I like CTTR a lot but I'm pissed off that it debuted on top 5 just because of the huge spotify/radio deals. I don't care if it stays top 5 for weeks on its own, i'd be happy, but I don't like the "way" the song debuted just because of those deals.

In HISTORY OMG

I think that Chainsmokers will be forgotten in 20 years while Gaga will be remembered as a legend.:whitney:

Well radio is like that with Katy with all of her big lead singles. And streaming is the thing now so it makes sense. I am sure if Gaga had amazing streaming power we would all be happy with it :hor:

I know but it looked like they "forced" the GP to listen to the song. I'm much more into longevity and letting a song growing on its own ( MR is taking too long tho ) . But LOTB is the perfect recent example and I'm happy for rih.
