I hope this proves my point. :diane:

Besides she can always do a clean remix.

For a clean remix she needs to delete 50% of the lyrics. :cryga:

The songs you used as examples aren't that in to your face about sexxx. And even those got some backlash. They are using metaphors while Gaga starts the song with 'I lay around, touch myself to pass the time' so everything that follows will be connected to masturbation.

i think AYO was already left last year and it would be better if a new single comes along. i mean AYO was supposed to be the second single but the GP preferred another one. it's the GPs choice to move on with another single tho :trollga:

And how did that 'preferred song by the GP' turn out? Not trying to be shady, because I wanted MR to be the second single, but it  didn't do that well until the Super Bowl, did it? And come on, how can you even say that the GP did prefer MR after the first week of their release? Most of the GP don't know A-YO and it takes a little bit longer to become a hit for some songs. The sad thing is that I don't see any other potential hit songs on this album besides MR, A-YO and Joanne. So she can move on, but I don't see the other songs become a hit. But I love it when she proves me wrong. :lolly:

But I Touch Myself is so in your face, that the title itself already gives away the song's meaning... And I'm sure there are so many hits out there that are explicitly about sex from the get go. If a song about touching each other can easily be a hit, I'm sure a song about touching yourself can too. Masturbation is not more taboo than sex.

A-YO stays unbothered as the third single, no matter how much u want Flopping in Circles as a single.

If Rihanna can say the lyrics "sex in the air, I don't care I love the SMELL of it... chains and whips excite me!" and still have a #1 smash hit radio friendly bop, Gaga can get away with DIC.

Anyone tracking radio airplay today?

Has Z100, Q100 or KISS played MR so far today?

Z100 hasn't played it yet. I don't know about Q100.

What is KISS again? Chicago?

That's Rihanna's schtick though. And she didn't really get away with it because radio refused to play it and it only got to #1 because of the Britney Spears Remix in a time where sales were the most importan factor on charts. Now that it's radio again it would be dumb to play that up.

Gaga is no radio darling like Rihanna.

Not radio already over MR :neyde:
Radio being like "look guys! MR peaked in the top 10 of bb! We can't let her have this kind of succes, stop playing the song immediately!"

Which is why it's logical to release a single to keep her hype in the GP going while she goes off to work on her other projects. Let airplay do it's job and see how it goes. It's not like performances at award shows will boost a song's popularity by that much nowadays anyway...

Airplay doing its job with Gaga? :poot:

Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?
