I am beyond pissed - this is the closest you will see me get to a meltdown.

I am among so many members who have wanted to see Gaga go metal, like I never expected an album or anything but a performance with Metallica???? Like, I've been dreaming of that since like 2010.

To see Gaga just kill it with the fashion on the red carpet, to see her up there with f*cking Metallica, to see her get a tattoo to commemorate the performance, to see Metallica get to perform with the artist who just played the Superbowl and then to see The Grammy's **** up their performance.

I'm mad.

There you go you took the words right out of my mouth.

I turned off the tv as soon as the performance ended and I don't think I will watch again so soon.

I'm mad :toofunny:

Talking about Gaga for a second, I thought she was phenominal, all things considered. She tried to make the best out of a bad situation, and I thought she killed it. But, that crowd surf, though  I should have known she was going to do that.

I was praying for her not to trip or anything and I was going, don't crowd surf, don't crowd----ah well at least people caught her

I hope Gags' tattoo isn't real.

After this performance, I don't think Metallica will be lovey dovey with Gaga. Not because of her performance, Gaga rocked but it was a bad experience. First, orange is the new black trans woman (don't know her name) only introduced Gaga, then James Hetfield's mic was off.

Metallica fans are quite fanatic, I expect some of them to dislike Gaga because she simply did not give her mic to James.

Gaga giving her mic to James would be biggest mess up ever , she handled situation at it's best.

You guys I'm scared to watch this performance now after reading these comments. :ohno:

They killed it

They had the energy, Gaga was incredible - it was just a **** start because the music was playing, James was singing but nobody could hear anything.

It was disjointed because James would sing his part, Gaga would sing hers - but you could only hear Gaga :smh:

The performance would have been 100% if it wasn't for the sound people at The Grammys who really ****ed up.

It would be easier rewatching it because now you know at least a quarter of the way into it the problem is solved and you can hear him.  But it was so stressful watching it happen because the camera would be on him singing and no sound, and it just kept going on and on like that, no one knowing when, or if, the sound would be fixed.

They both handled it well. It sucks, but it's just one of those technical stuff-ups that happens, and they both handled it like pros. James gave his mic a couple of tries, and then went to share Gaga's. Gaga saw that his mic was out, and proceeded to make her part in the song count. It's live TV, it happens.

I'm disappointed it happened though. I was really looking forward to this performance, it's such an awesome collaboration. Really sucks that it got messed up by technical malfunctions, because it would have been BRILLIANT to see that energy in all its glory.

yes they both handled like a pro , but after all this not Grammy's first time , so they should apologize officially, also so I really hope she will tour with them for couple of dates.

I'm already seeing some bad comments on Twitter about Gaga from some straights tbh. The introduction is gonna step on some nerves seeing how some ppl think the Grammys only introduced Gaga but not Metallica. We may need to defend Gaga if people throw fault at her. The only faults here is the Grammys and Laverne Cox. I mean, she needs to issue an apology. Both the Grammy and Laverne.

But she did? Unless you mean some fans were expecting her to hand it over to him completely, which I wouldn't be surprised some would want.

Gaga could have moved her mic over to share, that would have been quick thinking, but you cant really expect that because the mic could start working at any moment. Too bad this happened because otherwise it would have been good.

But James was furious.  If I was the mic or sound guy that had his mic off, his tech who didn't notice it soon enough, I would be hauling ass so I was miles away by the time they came off stage.

Yeah, I agree but stuff like that really ****s with the performance - especially when it's right at the start because the whole time you are like "Oh sh*t that beginning was a major **** up!"

It wasn't just not knowing when, or if, the mic would be fixed either - James had to make his way to Gaga to sing which meant the Grammy producers had to have a close up of their faces... If the mic had worked we probably would have had some wide shots of the the stage and shots of James rocking out and Gaga slithering around the stage. Everyone had to improvise though

I mean... It really screwed with the entire performance, which is a shame because Gaga really did kill it.

They say the most important parts of the performance are the beginning and the end. That beginning was not cute.

She did not share it initially, James had to come near Gags, and even when she was holding the mic, it was always closer to her mouth. Gags out rocked James when his mic was on too, all mishaps favored Gaga, moreover she stole their show. I could be kinda mad at Gaga if I was James.

I mean think this: if Gaga was joined by Halsey(a relatively new artist just like Gaga is to Metallica), in a similar situation monsters would rip Halsey apart on twitter.

Ah, I see.

idk, I thought she just didn't notice until James came up to her, and thus worked around that after it was let known to her.
