Bringing up lies as arguments because you can't accept gaga is doing fine on her own without renting a rapper. you do you sister :toofunny:

Are you implying Katy isn't big enough to overtake 2 old ass songs just by her name and hype for a new single ? :oprah:

Weren't Birthday, and Rice also expected to smash though? You seem so sure about something that hasn't even happened. 💋

Cant read i see and throwing out assumptions.

Never have i said I cant accept Gaga is doing fine on her own you just cant read and comprehend that Gagas singles for Joanne are flopping (besides the superbowl boost, that was bound to make them rise for at least a week or less before declining again)

Its just an educated guess that CTTR will probably smash harder than MR ever has and will. GP friendly, her team always promotes the hell out of her and her leads never seem to flop hard, and Spotify is embracing her and promoting the **** out of her.

So, CTTR is bound to smash imo.

Rise also wasnt her lead and promoted hard, and Apple Deal made her flop hard with that song. Hence why she left the deal anyway.

Then explanin TF and TFM.

Do you know that pushing songs can end up with totally opposite effect?

Well you are free to enjoy it with your superior taste :spin:

TF and TFM were commercial success due to Gaga's then unique position within the business. The albums and the music on them are both are very distinct from the music that was put out around them. Neither album was created to purely contain hits, which is why the TF took so long to produce a hit in Just Dance.

I'm well aware that pushing a song can backfire. It can also be highly successful in forcing a song into the commercial market without the pubic naturally embracing it, which I'm seeing a lot of lately.

My music taste are not superior, but they are certainly diverse enough to know when I hear something bland. Joanne is not Dance Pop, tropical or moody EMD driven like the rest of Top 40 music as of late, but the mix of Rock, Country, and Pop make it far from bland; while the personality, and vocal performances keep it from being boring.

A song that hasn't left the top 100 since its release despite minimal airplay and shoots up to #1 every time its performed isn't a flop. 500k sales in 2017 isn't a flop.

Not going #1 on itunes with a radio deal and hype is bad to say the least lol esp if your last album came in 2013 :air:

I get your point with not going #1, but i doubt anyone would be able to at this point. Its a song being backed by a huge movie franchise and radio is embracing the hell out of it and streams are going wild.

Its not easy for a new song to debut at #1 on the charts when this song recently regaind popularity and is huge right now.

No. You said that if music was made to "bop" it will ALWAYS lack true substance and will be forgotten music. Then by that logic explain how TF and TFM are filled with bops and how these bops are not forgotten and they are still being played on the radio?

Like I said, if something is good it will be sold and be played. There's no streaming deal that would save bad song.

Just because there's thrown different styles, it doesn't mean that it can't be bland lol.

Structure of songs is very bland and dull.

One example John Wayne: the song starts and close to the chorus you have that build up part and when it reach its' high instead of explosive chorus it falls flat...

I think as objective as I can possibly be listening to it, it's not a good song.  it feels extremely lazy and not catchy...i listened to it twice and I can't even remember the melody.  her pronunciation when she sings is cringy to me..the artwork is weird and looks like a Nicki Minaj b-side.  I'm not like anti-Katy normally...but yeah. Even the Skip Marley part felt like a weird Sean Paul tropical knock off.

The deal does feel like streaming payola but whatever...we're in a weird place right now with music and the bling.

Guyssss. Don't make a mess. We can agree Gaga has a lot of success by herself, although Joanne Singles weren't the best charting of 2016/7. Aldo that Katy Management is pretty good at promoting her and she usually gets enough exposure from promo

Theres something very unsettling about a team that produces music (Katy+team) working so closley with a company that distributes music :oprah:

and they just added her song to "today's top hits" playlist which followed by 13+ million people!

I AM HONESTLY FUMING! why can't we have things like that?

Tbh it wouldn't be a good thing because everyone would say that Gagz success was because of Spotify.
