I actually am very disappointed in Gaga fans because NO ONE here seemed to understand what the song AND video are about :sharon: The lyrics are very to the point and there is a very specific reason why the chorus is such a pop cliché and why there's a rapper in the song. And the video is brilliantly done. She's critiquing the whole country and not just the republicans but EVERYONE.

Wait. There's a rapper? :sharon: I didn't even get to that part. It's too formulaic and when she got to the bubble bubble trouble trouble part I just had to close my youtube tab.

Lyrically in a song it sounds like a train wreck. How the hell do you not rhyme distortion with anything. Having Sia was a bad move for a writer. Sia her self sometimes blur her words when she sings. Katy doesn't do that so you have these weird phonetic sounds going on. I guess for as words they might have some type of meaning but she like beat around the bush with it.

Yes there's a subtle message expressed lyrically, but that doesn't mean the lyrics she chose to use express that in a clever way. The metaphors she used were cliche and the words sound childish imo. I appreciate the message though but it still comes off as a childish song.

She panders toward children, and we know Sia wrote these for her. The only recent song I have liked from her was Rise, because she seemed like an actual person. She seemed so fake and generic during Prism, and even now.

This is exactly why it's very hard for me to respect what Katy does.
