White feelings bout to be hurt.

These comments have to stop. When will you stop making us divide us a nation and promoting shows like this that divide us, not unite us. Enough playing the victim card and say white privledge, white this, white that. This whole thing is reverse racism, enough trying to make white people feel ashamed of being white because we are all the same on the inside.

Are people just disliking because they're calling it racist?

Because I know nothing about it but apparently it's originally a movie.

Is it a comedy?

Yeeees it's a really funny satire.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

na **** this. if you truly believe everyone is equal, why are people of colour allowed to do this kind of thing? imagine if it was done seriously the other way around (dear black people).... :madge:

White people haven't been oppressed for hundreds of years. And yes, there's a difference. I'm white and I have a diverse group of friends. We all have seen this movie and we get it. Some people won't and it's ok. Seriously, no shade.

I don't get the hate, they didn't mock "white" people, they're just calling out **** that actually happens to the black community.

why do people have to hate on white people to lift themselves up?:toofunny:

Now you see y'all complain that others call white people sensitive when y'all take something as tame as this film and saying it's "hating white people" :rip:

People who haven't seen the original film should not be commenting on what it will or will not be like.

We are all equal but historically not all people are TREATED equally. All people are still not treated equally.

White people in America are at the top of the food chain. Apparently the show is satire. It's comedy. Based on what some white people say. Whites are not being threatened.

Meanwhile blacks were enslaved and segregated from society for far too long. It would not be the same if they made a Dear Black People.

I know people are gonna quote me and disagree but I stand firm in my belief as a minority living in the US.

"Playing the victim"

I'd say open a history book, but you don't have to look so far to see that black individuals still aren't equal, and wont be for a long time with the current direction we're heading.

GGD isn't really progressive even when it comes to the LGBT community, so none of these comments are really surprising to me.

I thought the movie was great but I don't know if the concept is going to work for a series. I feel like it would work better if it was like 'Black-ish' or 'The Real O'Neals' were the messages are more diverse. The movie relied heavily on one single message so I really doubt they can manage to succeed with these series.

Edit: The message behind the projects is good and valid tho. I'm just not feeling like watching a whole series about the same topic, it has been done before and it has failed.

And guess what, black people aren't being oppressed that much anymore either! Enough with the victim card. The president was black, the richest couple (Beyonce and Jay Z) are black, heads of companies are black, managers are black, teachers are black, some of the most important and influencal people are black.

This whole hating on white people trend needs to stop, it is not going to fix the problems the black community faces today

Except I'm white and I think the movie is ****ing hilarious.

I see where you are coming from but this movie (and show) are based on things that white people mostly just don't get. For example:

white people say

"Can I touch your hair?"

"Oh so you're black but, you're not like ghetto"

"I mean he was black but, he talked really white. You know...educated. "

Etc.

Guys...How is this trailer racist? It's literally a girl asking people not to do blackface.

I need a winter candy apple and an iced gingerbread candle, both three-wick, or I'm boycotting.

Tbh, if I said a black guy cant be Abraham Lincoln for Halloween, I'd be called a racist. She just told me I can't be Obama for Halloween. Like, I love the guy what's the big deal? :wtf:

Spoiler

Who goes as a president for Halloween though? I mean...I could see Trump 'cause he's scary...but that's a different discussion for a different day.

Idk, all in all, if this is serious and not satire, it'll only do more harm than good. I'm not even half white, just light skinned, and even I feel a tad alienated just from watching the trailer :laughga: Then again, I know nothing about the series or movie so educate me, fans.

You're stinky

You can become rich, you can get a big job, no matter who you are, don't use your color as an excuse

The black community faces a huge wave of murder, crime, and having children before marriage, focus on that instead of hating on white people.
