I've been scalped since Sunday, so I hope Katheryn and Joanne can snatch my medulla oblongata this Friday and at the Grammys on Sunday

Clearly you didn't because you have no working conception of disco and funk which don't rely heavily on pure synth. Just because there's a synth in it and a bass line doesn't make it disco new wave, or funk  You'd be right if you said synth pop but you can keep being delusional

Gurl Bye.

I know everything that has a bass line and bouncy synths isn't considered Disco.

First of all you are one to judge when you called this tropical house and it's no where near there.

Synth pop and New Wave can sound very similar and this sounds like retro inspired synth pop with a funk tinge. Which is close to Disco and New Wave.

If anyone's delusional its you with your conception of tropical house and the fact that everyone in the thread is properly labeling this as disco and funk inspired besides you. :bye:

You are outnumbered here.  Everyone besides you thinks its disco-pop.

Sis this isn't FUNK so :bye: Have you listened to Parliament, Funkadelic, Sly and the family stone, The Commodores, Kool and the Gang, EWF, or Prince? That's actual funk. You're reaching... :sharon:

Also sis everyone here may be calling it disco, but that's incorrect. Just because everyone else is labeling it disco doesn't make it correct. Clearly a lot of people here don't listen to enough disco or new wave to properly judge what it is.

You can clearly hear the undertones of this tropical house trend in the snippet and you're delusional for not being able to catch that. Many other users here have also stated that they think this might become a tropical house song as well.  But i'm done arguing over a three second snippet. We shall see when the song comes out... :green:

mhm sure that's why the most liked comment in this thread is calling this song a tropical house song. Sis just because a bunch of people are incorrectly calling it "disco-pop" - an arbitrary category as it is - doesn't make it correct. I would agree with the term synthpop, but i'm over it. we literally got three seconds of it.

I didn't say the genre of the song was funk; I said it was funk inspired because of the bass line. There's a difference between saying a song is inspired by a genre and saying that song is actually that genre.

I take benefit of the majority and their opinion over yours when you're clearly delusional enough not to hear the groove undertones. And think this fits in the generic tropical house trend of the last couple of years.

Theres no use in arguing with someone who clearly doesn't know what they are talking about especially when 99% of the comments said  it sounds like disco/synth pop
