OMonster 14,720
I actually think this is going to be a very successful, re-defining era for Katy. She is definitely going to tone down the whole perfect pop shtick in my opinion. I'm not expecting anything as left field and transformationalist as Joanne (in terms of totally changing sounds, era on era), but I think even thematically at least, it's going to be a bit different. Maybe a bit Tove Lo meets Lana? That's what I am imagining. I think the album will be the biggest social commentary of her career... and I definitely think that has been inspired by Gaga. I think she would admit that, too. I also really would not be surprised at all if there is a ft. Gaga on the album. subtext / fantasy

PeterPan 0
for some reason people seem to think generic=bad but it's not.
TheMiddleGround 3,279
Lets not jinx her downfall era by comparing it to ARTPOP. How harder we want her to fail the more successful her upcoming era will be. So lets close this topic

PeterPan 0
Let's not forget TD and Prism had some great bops: Teenage Dream, Wide Awake, ET, Walking on Air, Legendary Lovers, Dark Horse, I would not call all of them generic

Cerny 4,270
There's is some speculation that she is doing a 90's inspired house/dance album, i don't think she will flop with that music. Edit: to clarify, that's what some of her fans were speculating when this video showed up on her Snapchat story some months ago. She was at the studio listening to dance/house music including Show Me Love by Robin S.
